OK, Steven is caught in a field doing unspeakable things to a farmyard animal, the farmer catches him mid coitus and knocks seven shades of s**t out of him.
In other words "dot" the c**t.

No because I'd dab him before he knew

The only thing you dab is this.

Nobody is interested because you're a knob I'm afraid.

If you want a professional to do it then let them do it.

Otherwise, if you're in the Midlands and you can find him, maybe you can hire @ChrispyUK (he plays bass you know)

(Yes he does)

Otherwise you'll have to finish what you started.

(Yes he will)

Seems a bit uncalled for, did I piss in your coffee some time?

I do want a professional job, and so was asking what I thought was a forum of professionals whether the random trades who spoke to me was a professional, as all the advice I could see online suggested boards are always taped. Unless you are suggesting that every random who claims to be a professional plasterer should just be trusted on face value? Didn't seem to be a particularly controvercial question tbph.

Apologies for using the wrong word, that is the word the professional who came to look used for what needed doing. So I'm a bit confused now whether I should trust them as you advise or just trust you, it's all so complicated? As someone else managed to make the mental leap to realise, I was referring to the screw holes in the plaster board needing to be filled, which the guy referred to as dotting. I'll be more careful in the future.

Not in the midlands, but was considering using the 'find a plasterer' page here to find someone. But as you are all such friendly and welcoming folk I think I'll leave you to your navel gazing.

Ames Tape it or skim it.
That's your options.
Good luck.

I wonder if the OP will be pleased when he comes back to this thread?
