We had tankers in the village last night pumping the water out of teh roads and I was out dragging broken down cars out of the flooded roads....

today is bright blue skies and I still cant get on with things because of the amount of water...

I have a sump pump arriving today

Shame I'm too far away as I've got two 2" petrol water pumps you could have borrowed.

Also crossed my mind to empty the very full stream into my neighbours garden....
I am quite bored of the mass of new threads on the topic... so this will be the only one now... keep it all in here and all others will be locked and new ones deleted....
I get there is not much plastering going on but every other new topic is the garden build.

also lets keep it clean and not bicker... getting fed up with that as well

Enjoy your time off all and try and remember we are in this together so should stay united as a community....

Let the Garden Build Begin!!!

All imitators (and pale imitations btw) of the CHD. The one, the only, the original and best!

I have broken up about 50 tonne of hardcore and dumped it in teh hole... I have now had 20 tonne of type 1 crushed concrete that I am now wheel barrowing through.... it has almost broken me...

hoping to have this part finished by the end of the weekend and will look at booking the concrete for next week...

I will upload photos soon enough

currently wrapped in a blanket on the sofa feeling rough :-(

Wimp.

Pumped concrete or will you have to barrow it? if pumped then you can concrete the piles even if full of water - the trick is to keep the end of the pump nozzle in the concrete and below the water level as it is displaced by the concrete. Tried and tested on hundreds of oil wells and some concrete piles in MK holding up overpasses.
You know where the concrete water level is by the stick with a small T board on the end that you were going to use anyway to compact and take the air out of the concrete (weren't you?, hint)
