Taking Credit Card Payments

Well, thankfully my full time plastering days are long gone however my honey business has escalated quite considerably and with a lot of shops stocking our products and people buying from us direct we were getting a lot of people wanting to pay by credit card.

We have a point of sale outside our house and people put cash in but a lot of people would knock on the door and want to pay with credit...

We have done a few village fetes and we sell £££s of honey but still we were losing sales due to no credit card facilities...

Well along comes sumup http://r.sumup.com/referrals/tU5JF

bloody brilliant and as most of our payments are £5 they take £0.08 in fees which I think is fine...

I think it cost me £22 for the machine as well which we dont actually use much now as people just use a QR code we have stuck to our sales box outside....

I think it is a great addition and for the money its worth it for the odd person who wants to pay by card

Nice one Danny. My barber uses one of them.

I went and bought some bacon rolls and coffee from a mobile vender yesterday and he now has a card machine. He said he realised that he was losing more and more business by not having one. World has gone to shite when people don't carry enough cash for a coffee and bacon roll in their pocket.

I tee’d you up nicely there.

Goodbye Plastering Forum hello The Original Honey Forum?

What’s different with your honey @Danny i thought something like this would be a competitive market

To be honest no different to any other local beekeepers honey.... we just have good marketing and people want to buy it....

If anyone within 10 miles of us talks about honey or bees on social media we get tagged....

a few other local beekeepers have got a bit pissy as we are now at the stage we always have honey to sell so when people start buying from us we can always supply them.

It's the worst money making scheme I have ever done but something about it I like....

Next year I will see how many more hives I want to manage and will see if it is worth the effort. I spent about 15k this year expanding so hopefully next year it wont be so bad
