Plastering around doorframe after new door install

Hi all. First post. Total newbie. I’ve done some skim work and that’s about it.

Looking for some guidance here. New door fitted in an old Victorian house (mine). Bricks and plaster removed to fit the frame, sealed off with blue expanding foam. I’m trying to finish this off.

I was planning on applying bonding to the brick/foam surface up to a level, putting on corner/arch beads, then skimming. Am I on the right lines?

I’m sure this is a really common one for you guys so any pointers would be massively appreciated.

Cheers.

yes mate you're on the right track but it ain't going to be easy, even for an experienced spread, some will say its a piece of piss on here , might take a few attempts to get the curve right ..good luck pal, if you ain't happy with 1st attempt do it again ,if it ain't right it will hurt every time you look at it.

update…fixed up the messed up plaster with bonding, found the existing plaster was loose af, literally crumbling off the wall, so patched that, got the beads on. I know the arch has a wonk but feck it I’ll freehand that.

This is probably the worst job you’ve ever seen fellas but Jesus you should have seen it before.

Will post final pics in a few days!

Spend a bit longer getting the curve right and protect the frame.
