Plastering Solid Brick Wall

Hello all,

I am after some help/ information.

I moved into an old house last year that has a solid brick wall and lime motar.

I am about to start revonvating it and I'm unsure what to do with the walls.

The previous owner has used a modern plaster, which has all cracked and needs replacing.

I know you can't used modern plaster on the wall as the wall won't be able to breathe, and mould does start to appear in the colder months.

Would I need to get the walls lime plastered, or could I battern it out and attach plasterboard? Or use a membrane and insulated plasterboard?

I have recently completed a quick plastering course because I wanted to do the whole renovation myself but I don't think I'd have the knowledge or experience to attempt to lime plaster myself.
