I was gonna get a 10 and been told that will be to much
Back half of house is open plan with kitchen, dining and snug area so it's ok. Front room on other side gets very warm if you crank it up. May as well have panelled the walls and made a sauna. Missus loves it though. If it gets too hot we just get naked. Winner winner.

I see it like a really fast car where it only goes as fast as you press the pedal. Sometimes I don't put much wood on and close the air vents down so it doesn't get too hot and burns nicely. Wood lastes longer this way too. Get the 10

We will be sat close to it but there's a bit of a area to warm at same time

Has anyone used that vistas heat resistant stuff? We had to plaster an entire 20m wall at 35mm because they wanted the finish flush with the fireplace
Omfg it’s like using concrete the aggregate is massive try ruling it lol, once it was on the next day it’s pretty much like spar the amount of chipping sticking out and it sets absolutely solid you can’t just scrape it back nicely for skim, we tried anyway and used the finish and it looked terrible the painters refused to paint it haha, so we ended up reskimming it with multi completely defeating the point of it

@BobbyJack @essexandy how you store your logs . As in so there drying out in order you get em.
I cut and stack them at lake for a year or so and then move them in turn to my log store at home some months before I'm likely to need them.
I'd imagine you'll be taking pot luck how well seasoned yours will be when you 'borrow' them from other people's log stores.

Just got some of emotional shauns conifer trunks

I got a 10kw in a, 11m x 11m room you can't keep the room stat below 25c even with the lowest setting on a rolling flame,
The timber makes all the difference, bone dry ash and oak for me.

Similar to Andy. I store them outside for a year before bringing them in. Then they live in log store I made in alcove. When I'm short I order a tonne from merchants. About 90 quid for a tonne bag of dried hardwood delivered. Also buy there coal too. About 25 quid for a 50kg sack
