Bostick plastering stabilising primer ( grit)

I'm puzzling about the background under the paint - why has it got that "box" outline all over it? Are they blocks with no bond or studwork? Has that somehow affected what goes on/over it?

just been for a smoke outside

with a bit of luck hopefully my site has blown down :rayos:

I reckon your odds are about 50-50, mate, so you might get lucky!

Shouldn't take much, considering the way modern sites are built like cornflake packets!

ThistleBond-it, is about twice the price of the other ‘grits’ (as a general rule of thumb), are the ingredients/additives different/better to reflect the price? @The Apprentice - any idea on this?

Unfortunately, I think his hands are probably too tightly bound to be unbiased or speculate on competitors' products

Definitely not distemper, I done the bedroom in bg bond it at the same time, (I was using what I had in store) and fingers crossed everything is good

I'm guessing the answer is no, but forgive me for asking:

Did you dilute the cementone grit at all?

No I never dilute it I never do, I always do what it says on the tub, in fact I use more than I should, the wall that I said had shelves on I went over twice a day apart , I never scrimp on materials!

Ah there's your problem, it says to only use a single coat.

I knew YOU was gonna reply that :ROFLMAO:
I only 50% re coated it , the sparse areas, as you know it slides as you brush it and I like the whole area with grit on and just not the colour of the grit.
Anyway it shouldn’t come of the wall no matter how many coats you give it.

Dried too quickly?

I know exactly what you mean mate. Almost like there isn't really the right amount of grit in it.
If you can get some try Microgobetis, it really is the b*ll***s. You can even legitimately water it down on high suction backgrounds.

I’m going to buy some. 20kg tub is around £60 so works out about the same as the cementone.

DONT USE !!!! Had a major fail with this rubbish and bostick technical guys don’t want to know, cu nts!
Has anyone not had a product fail though. I've had a fail with green Grit to but also had fails with Pva. Every product is always going to go wrong now and then

No nothing like that , the grit has flaked off the walls in the whole room
It's up to the end user to make sure the conditions are suitable for the product.
If you have been using it for years without a problem then you need to find out what went wrong and learn from it. Experience is what sets you apart from the novices.
You learn more from a bad day then a smooth sailing day. You f**k*d up, own it.

Someone can't handle their Friday shandy

It’s all under control. Problems do occur of course. We shall continue into the wee hours with a helping of Bolinger and a sniff of tobacco.

The problem though is going the extra mile, using a product that is more expensive and getting kicked in the knackers for trying to do the right thing. And then to get the cold shoulder from the manufacturer.

Careful, tapit.

Not being snarky with this (I promise, I'm really not), but the odds are that at some point in time, someone may experience problems with your tape failing, and then you may end up with egg on your face, after being so bullish with remarks like you just made, above.

I honestly hope that doesn't happen (although we've occasionally had our differences, I don't wish you any misfortune with your product).

I asked bostick to come out and test it but they didn’t want to know!!!

My product sticks beads. It either works or does not, I make no claims as to what to cover the bead with or it's suitability for site conditions that's up to the end user.
