Plastering Charges v brick laying fees

hi
Is there a minimum fee that plasterers should be charging when I hear of some plasters willing to accept £150 for a days work when if we compare a bricklayer charge of £1 per brick and £1.75 per block. Earning twice that of a plasterer.
And I see on social media that the industry is demanding a minimum charge for bricklaying gathering pace.

Industry thoughts ??

thanks

Thing is there's too many fucktards in our game to demand a minimum price.courses have determined this.there won't do 3 day courses or a few week courses for bricklayers then let them loose like there do plastering

Problem with plastering is if lads can skim they are a plasterer even tho they can’t float render or screed.
If your a bricklayer you can either lay bricks or not.
In my opinion people who can render and float should be on a minimum of £250 a day because the is lack of people who can do it

That's simply not true. I can lay bricks and blocks, but I wouldn't want to try a spiral chimney or whatever.
Throwing blockwork or face brickwork down on site building is no more than someone that can d&d and skim IMO.
I've seen plenty of young lads doing it within no time on site
over the years.

Being happy at work is more important than what the Bricky is on mate , we are the happiest tradesman alive
I once had brickies lad come up to me and say I should of been a plasterer . I asked why . He said cause you lot are a laugh there miserable bastards

I've seen labourers sent to do test panels on sites where the min price for a house was 300k ( and I'm going back pre 2008) and they have been signed off by the architect and site agent. The brickies could not believe their luck when they saw the standard that was deemed ok.
I've also got an old mate who's a manager for a bricklaying contractor who regularly had to go on sites to show them how to set out manholes, fireplaces and chimneys

This always fries my brain:

If your a bricklayer you will be lucky to get 10 months in out of the year.
If your a sparky or a gas man you have to pay for regulations and if your a chippy you need 10k of tools.
If you skim on site you need a bucket hawk trowel and a 100 quid mixer. Painters get more then site plasterers now ffs

In my opinion both are proper trades and should be paid proper but there’s a lot a people who think skimming on board is being a plasterer in the same way people think laying bricks between two profiles is being bricklayer what i will say is being a chippy has changed a lot in the last 25 years in my opinion that’s virtually a semi skilled trade with all the gear the have

Jealous mate that’s what it is we are the envy of all the trades , heads held higher than all of them

Agree completely most so called plasterers you meet s**t scared of floating or rendering because they can't do it and really only want to skim

All trades have gone that way, look at plumbing with push fitings very little soldering these days, and you can do 5 day courses for that.
im apprentice served but apprenticeships are few and far between, so I suppose you move with the times. If someone’s good at skimming and makes a good living from it and takes pride in there work, good luck to them, it’s more money and pick of jobs for those that can do it all. I haven’t done any plastering for getting on 10 years plus im a fibrous hand and that’s the same, just rendering for me now.

I work on new build sites, some of the standards and corner cutting is shocking.

I’d say every tradesman should be on that kind of money, if your self employed and running a business.

During the past few days, Freeview ch. 26 'Yesterday' have been showing old re-runs of the series 'Fred Dibnah's Building of Britain'.

Fred must be turning in his grave at the appalling standards housing developments are built to these days.
