Any parts of uk slowing down or is your phone still non stop? How far some of you booked up for?
I'm working Tuesday first job of the new year ,but the word is this is going to be a bad year !! The work last year was just from lockdown and excess cash about but it's not going to be about so much this year ??

Moneys never been as cheap to borrow, record low interest rates, most peoples jobs are pretty secure, record employment levels,(and job vacancies) shortage of skilled labour, some people have decent lumps put away from no holidays etc last few years, lack of housing stock so people are staying put and renovation/extending, the traditional idea of British people obsessed with property etc etc I wouldn’t be worried in the next 12 months anyhow.
the only negatives is cost of livings creeping up with inflation and heating bills are shooting up, but that’s a bonus for us as we’re getting a lot more enquires on the ewi front than ever before. The bottom end of the market is going to struggle ie on the breadline as often the case, but is that your target market. All Just my opinion mind, but We’ve enough on to back end of the year really, I’m in North Yorkshire.

Plenty on and about, just dont need the bankers to f**k it all up again, after the last bail out you can bet thier doing the same s**t again that crashed it last time !
Plus others running things trying to ruin the west as seen over the last couple of years.

A few jobs booked in mate so positive vibes here , new enquiries will come in more towards end of the month normally as most folks have a good break at Christmas so hold tight and enjoy the ride if we get one

Health is the ultimate wealth too I remember

We all love to hear there's loads of work coming !! Yea if you want to kill yourself on site there's work !! And no offence to you lads I did 15 years on sites !! Its the domestic side that will suffer !!!!

My work is still on the backlog of last 18months bookings
I do not take any new enquiries ..coupled with my own little renovates .,any spare time ,I get taken by covid & moon thread .

Stay busy charvas

Utter nonsense, wheres the panic that’s coming ? And whose the ‘they’ ?
are these the same predictions that were made at this stage start of last year ie mass unemployment by the end of the year, house prices to drop 10% etc etc, or maybe I’m more positive than most of the doom merchants or ‘shock‘ post members on here.

I did 4 small jobs last year, nothing booked in for this year so far,
Just how I like it
Worked on sites for years chasing money.
Finally realised you dont need the big money.
Just learn not to spend.
They can stick there £60000 cars and £40000 vans.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with aspiring to own nice things if that’s your target in life, and if that’s through hard graft so be it.

Dont get me wrong.
I've earnt well, spent well and drank my fair share but have also realised after many years, nice things need to be replaced again and again and life ticks along quite happily without spending loads.

Got fair few jobs booked in already, I've put prices up and still getting 80% of jobs. I can imagine it getting even better towards the end of the month, but you never now... Really enjoyed the two weeks off for Christmas, got time to spend with my little fella, just hate going back as all of that bond I made with him is gonna go to s**t... definitely more to live than work

See alot gone this way . Covids made people realise

When I saw the thread title, I half expected it to be about annoying NHS jab-pushing texts!

As far as work goes, it may get quiet, busy, quiet, busy, etc., but at least this trade is fairly important to people, rather than being useless luxury. People want to live in a nice home - hopefully that will keep the trades busier than most, if customer funds get tight.

Boom before bust. How anyone can think the will be no economic downfall after a pandemic is absolutely nuts the government have printed off billions of pounds and are in a huge debt along with the rest of the world. Interest rates will rise and property will fall it’s not if it’s when don’t these people realise recession is a cycle the is no way of stopping it!
Keep your prices fair don’t take the piss and ride out the storm the will always be work but the prices will be a completely different story!

Fair play mate I’d rather sit at home on my crack then go to work to pay 400 notes for a lease van that I don’t own but the world we live in is nuts show off people 18 year olds driving Mercedes who work in Asda which doctors should have ….. worlds gone mad eventually they will come crashing back down to earth with a thud!
