How would people react if someone you’re working with continuously goes over your work double, after you’ve speedskimed an brushed. They do it again. After you’ve flattened in your second coat they’ll come an do it all over again in front of you. With a different trowel. Leaving it rougher than when you’ve done it an leaving misses on the ceiling line because they exclusively use plastic trowels. Asking for someone…

It would happen once, the cubt would get a slap and he'd never touch my work again

1) I'd have to honestly ask myself a painful question: is my work sub-standard?

2a) If answer to question 1 is 'yes', then I'd do all I can to improve my skills and bite my tongue about being followed, until my skillset has improved.

2b) If answer to question 1 is 'no', then I'd tell whoever's following me to fuc k off.

Just tell him to stop f**k**g your work up he is making it more difficult for you as you have to sort out his f**k ups on your work. Failing that drop him where he stands

If you’ve already gone over your 2nd coat there shouldn’t be any misses, he can’t create them

Just make a brew and have a conversation with him. Ask him why he feels the need to do that. He may well have some sound advice and pointers that will only benefit you, your money and your reputation in the future. Sometimes you’ve got to swallow your pride

After plastering for three years I remember thinking it takes three years to learn to plaster

After five I was thinking it takes five years

After ten I was thinking it takes a good ten years

Now I’m thinking I won’t ever stop learning

I did some work with a few lads on here in the summer who are much more time served than me and was gutted we were too busy for me to just follow them round like a puppy because I knew I’d likely learn a load of old tricks

Fresh out of college. Been in construction since I was 17 an I’m 22.
At 22 u can barely make a proper cup of tea just about handle a brush and the only thing u should b skimming is the backs of cupboards whined ur neck in he’s probably trying to teach u something
