I don't see the point, I've always used solvent free gripfill. Cheap as chips. Dry enough to plaster in a matter of minutes and the biggest plus for me is there is adjustment for when the last spread could line his beads up. Try it, works a treat. :)
Does sound a cheap option to be fair.

I keep telling everyone decorators caulk way forward
Trouble with Caulk is it don't dry quick enough. It may be cheaper but hey. I've been using the yellow tube for over a decade. It's so easy to use. Beats reloading a staple gun and carrying the stairs. Silicone gun and gripfill or one of the cheaper alternatives.
I won't use anything else.
Oh, and don't even ask about their hook on beads. One of those fantastic ideas that just doesn't work because there always some idiot that couldn't put up boardwork with the side reveals matching the top?
That's where gripfill works perfect. You can play with up to 10mm once you get used to it.

Why not try a fantastic idea that does work? No application gun needed, no need to use a scraper to smooth off excess gunk and you will never need to carry the stairs!
Forget the yellow tube and try the orange tape. Peel it, Stick, Skim, Easy!

Must have a look at it on Amazon.

How does the tape fair when you have a window, you put your top bead on, great so far, then one of the side reveals needs to be 7mm away from the wall to line up with the top bead because the plaster board is out of the spread years ago couldn't line them up. It's like hook on beads. Fantastic idea but they don't work when this happens. Taping them with a gap I'm guessing will turn the bead so the wing will be proud of the spine. Really not a good look.
No, gripfill for me. All day long. I've still got to carry it in case the beads don't line up so what's the point. I'm guessing it's cheaper than tape. One gripfill can put on 10 to 20 beads depending on thickness.
Use finger to smooth it down, no need for a spatchula. Or rip a bit of your plaster bag of and use that. Simple

It's literally for say like chimney breast walls that are done in concrete where just 1 bead needs putting on.thats it.id have a roll in van and it would last 5 years.ull get numpty courses playing around with it as there won't know you can staple beads for a fraction of the cost

How do staples fair on a "concrete wall"?

They will handle up to about 10mm out no problem. No waiting about either tape and skim straight away.

Great for chimneys and any solid surfaces.
You are learning, I may have to start paying you commission.

It's little things like when the wall is out. It touches at the bottom and top but not at the middle. With gripfill I put one bead down each side. Stick the bead on and it's done once smoothed off. Now with tape I'm guessing the middle won't be stuck to the wall and will spring in and out as the trowel passes over it. Every spreads nightmare. If you do manage to stick it, it will be pulled in following the original bowed contour. With gripfill it won't pull it in so it's straighter than original. Plus, after 5 to 10 mins it's stuck and won't have any spring. I usually do some scrim or pva after the beads. Trust me. I hardly ever wait for them to dry. I challenge someone to try the yellow gripfill. Oh, they don't fall off either....lol
Let us know......

I don't use any mechanical fixings for beads any more.
Not used the turbo stuff but it sounds more expensive. I use Yellow gripfill for every Single bead I fit. The bead stays adjustable for a minute or two as well which is a complete bonus.

How do you get on with a long run, say above folding doors gripfill and a bit of tape to support the bead until adhesive goes off?

Sticks like shite is about 6 quid a tube. I use to use the pink grip but didn’t find it that great beads would slip etc. Not tried the yellow one tho, I’ll give it a bash

What do use again pal :coffe:
I prefer solvent free gripfill. It's in the yellow tube. Screwfix do an alternative called no nonsense solvent free adhesive. I use my finger to smooth it off and then wipe it off on the side of a multi bag that I use for waste. You won't go back

At 6 quid as tube it works out more expensive.
Gripfill is cheaper. If you like it you can buy it but the case cheaper, that's what I do. Howdens do it on offer sometimes

It gets charged on to the customer and some so doesn’t really matter the price for 6quid

yellow one is worse, like using caulk thats been sat on a radiator

I've tried both and can categorically state that pink grip it not much use as it skins too quick and make a mess, is a nightmare to smooth off.
Yellow gripfill is not like using chaulk that's been day on a radiator. Me sniffs a bias opinion...lol

I just realised you had pictures on this post.....lol
I cant be doing with clout nails. Gripfill for me. Although I see you use turbo outside. Interesting.
Outside I use external tile adhesive. Found that to be brilliant and cheap. I might give your turbo a go next time I'm outside...

Tile adeshive is decent too, I always use to just use neat cement that’s good too, many ways to put external beads up defo not nails tho block works never good enough
