Hello
I've had an issue with an interior wall for almost 2 years. The house is a 1950s red-brick semi, with a cavity wall, but no insulation.
It started at about 6ft as a random spread of dark spots of different sizes (looked as if someone had splashed oil and it left stains). It eventually started to flake and bubble and show a candyfloss like growth across the entire wall, starting at 6ft and working its way down.
We've tried Damp Seal paint which did not work. Then the wall was taken back to the brickwork and replastered but the marks are back again.
Has anyone come across this and know what may be causing the problem. I've attached photos of the various conditions of the wall over the last two years.
Desperate for some help with this, no one seems to have a clue as to what's happening.
Thanks very much.
