Angry Cyclists

f**k these cyclists had one give me the w**k*r sign the other day as I beeped my horn as I got just right behind him and s**t him up haha

So I’ve been researching a bit - not the laws of road use but these types of cyclists - Jeremy Vine types.
One guy does loads of it. Hides in bushes (“Gandalf Corner London” if you want to YouTube it?) stopping motorists jumping the queue. Within 10 seconds you know he is being a massive Wally
Anyway turns out his Dad died getting hit by drunk driver so I understand his desire to police the world but he is totally unreasonable

I fkin hate cyclists.......

That is allowed as is overtaking a horse on unbroken white lines.
Bit more complicated than that - you can only overtake anything, cyclist, horse tractor, steam engine etc across double white lines if they are doing less than 10mph (126 km/hr) and the road ahead has to be clear. So cyclist with his go pro on will prove he was going faster and still do you.

In theory, the safe distance is enough for the cyclist to fall off sideways and you not hit them. 1.5m is what Sustrans, Cycle England etc. have all decided to try to use as a measure. In eyeball terms half a lane width is about right.
If it is a long double section of miles - like in parts of Oxfordshire, if it is clear they arte holding up a lot of traffic you might try to counter-argue that they are the ones riding without due care and consideration of other road users, since Highway Code suggests it tells you when you should be giving way, not giving you a right of way.

Got home to a police letter with evidence that I overtook a cyclist too close. Guy filmed it all and took to cops. Loads of this happening these days
Fine points or educational course coming
Miffed :endesacuerdo:
Unlucky f**k*r :birra:

Out of interest how close were you per his vid? see the evidence and whether he was stable or moving around before you overtook. if he was stable before, during and after, and clear road surface you might argue you were driving with due care and consideration, you took a considered position for the circumstances and that there was no risk.

It's common courtesy, give anyone less vulnerable plenty of room and don't drive like an arse.

People should have to commute a certain distance and time on a bike before being in charge of a 1/2 ton nicely isolated vehicle
Not a go at car drivers particularly , cyclists , scooters etc should all be licenced , taxed and insured to use the road

More cops , more cameras and harsher fines to protect the innocent

To be fair there are some nobheads who cant ride a bike to save there life but in there defense if you ride a bike and someone comes really close its pretty scary when you think youre going to get knocked off.. My mate was killed in a hit and run the guy didnt get caught by a van only 21 on his way to ride for a belgium pro team...

All that aside there are a massive breed of angry cyclists who make mountains out of mole hills and expect perfection of everybody and are totally unreasonable
Watch out you have been warned they are out to get you for minor mistakes

Alls as i can say is have a ride on the road and see if you like it when vehicles are close to you beep you or get up your ass.. Youll change your tune mate i guarantee it..

Are these the same cyclists that totally ignore traffic lights when red etc…!
They are only going to hurt themselves running a red light to be fair. They are not licenced, same as dogs so I believe you can throw them in the gutter and not report it if you hit one.

Conclusion:
Did a 3 hour educational course on zoom yesterday cost about £80
Lesser evil than three points and £100 fine

watch out folks the laws are changing
More in favour of vulnerable road users and coming soon if you touch your phone even if it is turned off your on 6 points and £200 fine with no quibbles

I maybe wrong mostly am but you pay road tax and insurance to be able to drive your van/car what does a bike pay then gets you fined if they clipped your wing mirror and got off you have no number plate or evidence that they done it absolute joke

That's not a bad outcome, better than points.
