Basecoat dragging not flattening

Thank you. I guess we’ll just carry on practicing and see how we get on.
some people seem to put the full 6mm on in a single pass. Others put 4 and 2mm. We’ve only tried the first method so far so perhaps we’ll give the other way a go.... once the weather improves
If your so busy and have so many properties why are you wasting your time trying to learn how to render this is nothing but a cost saving exercise I’m afraid experience and knowledge comes at a cost piss take you come on here looking for this just because you simply don’t want to pay

So ypure telling me youd pay a joiner to build a stud frame or put a couple of skirting boards on or archatrave.. Im sick of penny pinchers with a budget it cost what it does or dont get it done but its his houses the end of the day which hes more entitled to have ago at...
A stud frame or skirting board is diy my friend rendering a wall is not we all know that the majority of younger lads who are plasterers can’t render never mind a diy penny pincher!

Its still classed as joinery mate.. Its not rocket science to rule off render to a bead... I wouldnt call a younger lad who cant render to be a plasterer term would be skimmer slash border slash renderer this trade has split up into about four different terms..
This guy seems to be defending himself too much to have not tried to get people in... Sometimes conseptions are wrong..
You saying youve never asked for advice for something out of your skill set.??

I am not stupid enough to try and undertake something which is skilled. Wet trades like plastering or bricklaying cant be picked up like this it’s not like cutting a bit of wood or painting a wall people don’t want to part with their cash Plasterer’s need to stick together you wouldn’t catch a gas man or electrician going to work for nothing about time we all start charging a flat rate minimum call out charge ... and as for lime mortar I charge to even go have a look why should I give any one 5 generation’s of experience and knowledge for free!

If only it was possible

Anybody in Corporate grind is a "suit" on site, irrespective of what they wear or do.
The hundreds of hours practice comes from working in a team from the bottom up. Or learning the hard way practising on your own properties and getting hints and tips from generous trades while on your own jobs.
There should be enough income being generated to pay properly for trades, or don't do it.

Why did you expect to get free help from this website and trades who are not getting, or going to get, any business from you? And after your first, (huge), post?

You would do better to go on Landlord sites, read, learn, listen (x2, note) and build up some sort of relationship and rep with them. Then, ask nicely for decent trades leads from others in your area.

Site trades like insulting each other, they probably wouldn;'t know what to say to each other if they didn't!
If you want to learn a bit to do maintenance, fair enough, it is not that hard, but needs some practice and skill and costs you time and money correcting errors etc.

What a miserable b*****d. There's plenty of Plasterers out there who struggle with polymer basecoats so you my friend have no chance.

Polymer basecoats need to be finished within minutes of application with spat or left at the very last point before it's gone and finished with float and sponge.

Aswell as that, basecoats are all different in there composition. Each have there own characteristics , application procedures, setting times etc then you've always the weather to factor in.

Thought you couldn’t find a competent plasterer. If he can only use sand and cement you should of used it. Spend loads of time wasted on penny pinchers any one who gives this bloke advice is a fool!
Why are u such a dick the guy asked for a bit of advise and u take the piss
