At least silicone/acrylic can be touched in. Try patching mono. Impossible. They all crack mate is the point, if they are gonna crack they will

Silicone base render breathable lolSome manufacturers say they are breathable...are they f**k...I've had a couple blow in areas where water has got behind...basically this stuff is 0.1 on the breathability scale...basically Sandtex pant with a couple of handfuls of sand thrown in

Well Sandtex can go over render that has a fair moisture content without blowing off, so is breathable to a point.Yes it is but how breathable? A product can can be marketed as breathable but on the scale of breathability it could be near 0.1. Would you put Sandtex paint over a lime render?
This is what I'm saying thin coat renders marketed as breathable are basically not breathable.
Maybe for a cement rendered property ok but the stuff is not breathable enough for any kind of heritage work...painting stones etc which it is often used for painting sandstone bay windows.Well Sandtex can go over render that has a fair moisture content without blowing off, so is breathable to a point.
Water getting behind render and a wall being breathable are completely different things though? Some manufacturers say they are breathable...are they f**k...I've had a couple blow in areas where water has got behind...basically this stuff is 0.1 on the breathability scale...basically Sandtex pant with a couple of handfuls of sand thrown in
