Plaster coming off when using wallpaper steamer

So I'm basically just trying to 'prep' a wall for a plasterer to come in and skim, and main part of that has been using a steamer to get the stubborn wallpaper off. However when I've been doing this, the pink plaster has come away with the wallpaper in quite a few parts of the wall! It now looks really patchy, I would say maybe 15/20% of the plaster has come away and flaked off during this process.

So my question is, do I leave it as it is, or will the plasterer probably want the rest of the existing plaster removed now?

Take of what's loose then ask the plasterer to come have a look or send him a couple of pics not hard to sort

Take the rest of the paper off without using the wallpaper steamer. So you can see the true state of the plaster underneath.

Standard scenario when using a steamer to strip paper. Ring your plasterer and let him know before he comes to start the job and also expect your price to jump up a bit.
