Type of Plaster and Finish

Dear All,

I am in my new house which was absolutely full of an old smoker and all the wallpaper and paint was stained with tar and nicotine. We always wanted to redecorate and on stripping back down to the wall I am confused as to what is there which was unlike our old home. UK house built in the 60's but confused what type of plaster is in play in addition to what the white top finish is. Difficult to see from the photo but would I be able to patch and skim or looking like a full re-plaster. Example of the poorer areas below.

Regards

Bit of this bit of that in those pictures, skim finish, bonding beneath possible on patches??

If your going to do all the work yourself then pick the least important room bash off everything loose watch you tube videos about “how to” and have a go. If it can be done with filler to your satisfaction you may settle on that standard/ solution?
You may well decide to hire a plasterer after all that though as plastering on old walls is not beginner stuff

I did not ask one question Complete read the statement. And I did not mention I was going to do it myself. You implied. Hence why I am asking for the right help so I can ask a professional the right questions. You are all sending cryptic answers. I just want to know what type of plaster and finish is on and whether it is likely to need a full plaster.

Are you alright?
You asked if you could patch, I answered.

Cryptic answers you say?

Bastards do it to each other never mind you.

Complete is right. The answer is no.

Fact is with old property the wallpaper is usually hiding all sorts of shite . Strip it and invite someone round
