Had a nightmare

Morning all,I had a nightmare the other day, I pva'd a room before bonding it ( tiles removed so was bonding it flat and level before skimming) once set I pvad 2 coats, waited for the 2nd coat to go tacky then I skimmed with multi finish 2 coats. Everything was going normal but then it dried with crazing and bubbles. I went back and I rectified it with doing it again and it's dried perfect and smooth. I just don't understand why it did it as I've never had it before and I used the same process as I've always done. It was my first call back so was abit disheartening.
Got it all done nice and smooth just want to know why it happened in the first place.

Why would you Pva over bonding you had done the same day?

Cheers for the feedback people, I know some dnt pva bonding if done the same day and I know some people do PVA bonding if done the same day, like I said in my post I've done the same process when skimming bonded walls loads off times and never had a issue until the other day. In the end I just reskimmed it after checking that it was all sound and had no dramas. I will just put it down to bad suction control and when I do another bonded and skim job I will try a different way and see.

I did a 2 year college course level 3 then I did 18 months working at Barratts home builders on building site dry lining and skimming, and doing council work. I've been doing plastering now for 5 years since college. I have heard some people going on them sort courses. Some have been good some ain't be good.

What do you mean some do and some don't PVA bonding on the day it's applied? I've literally never seen or heard of any plasterer doing so. Crazy.

Think of learning to plaster like driving, yes you get a piece of paper when you pass, but is does not stop you from a crash and burn.
Get the basic skills in training, then the experience working with good plasterers who are will to pass on their skills and knowledge is the best training you can have.
After training don't chase the money until you get that site experience working with a good tradesperson.
That's the best advice I could give to anybody new to the trade.

Thats what I did, it was just a situation that I never had happened to me before, but everyday is a school day.

What the hell ive skimmed bonding the day after, even after 2 generous coats of pva I think it still doesn't pick up enough quickly,so to be doing that the same day is madness, your the only person I've come across that does that

Each to their own, next time I have a bonding and skim job I will just skim straight over and see if that is better but I have done it the way I have numerous times and never had a problem before.

Just having fun pal, if I really felt insulted I would going off on one and becoming a keyboard worrier, cutting and pasting articles, f’ing this f’ing that.......etc...etc

sorry Jamie, but there is good and bad in all walks of life, because of history, and we live in today and need to start to live with all, and I say the same to my “P****i ******” pals.
