Sand cement

Plaster sticks to plasterboard, and you think it'll fall off of cured s&c if it's not keyed?
Listen chunk, ive been back to plenty of old properties with sand and cement as backing coat, did a bedroom not long ago with exact same situation.there was a 1m2 square section that skim had blown off as there was misses all over the area from the key I wish I would of took a pic now.dont think you know everything big boy believe you me a continuous key everywhere is better so take it on board

You ignorant Muppet. Absolutely clueless.

No I went all modern and use 25mm drywall screws barely through the float. Not that I ever get to float with s&c anymore unfortunately.
Seems to be all but gone , my last desent

Good afternoon chaps I’ve just sand cemented a couple walls which had issues with damp , the customer put KA tanking slurry on a while ago , I scratch coated it yesterday & put top coat on today & rubbed it up . My question is what finish coat to put on it . A friend I know who’s an old school plastered very good to be fare said to me British gypsum guide lines recommend to leave it 28 days before applying finish coat . My mate prefers Thistle board finish over multi as it tends to shale if it doesn’t dry out completely . I was going back Monday to skim it . Any advice I’d be grateful. Thx in advance.

I would of haced old sand cement harled whith lime so it breathable false wall whith insulated board hit miss vent. I would only use tanking as last resort!

you take the pic from top of tree?
lol picture taken off of rightmove , young lad out of the money market from london built it , got all the trades in , lived in it for about a year then sold it , lovely home full of curved walls and balls eye windows , was a pleasure to do , me and a mate done it about 7 years ago full sand and cement inside and out

For a saddo like me do you remember the quantities of materials?
No the guy got everything in , we just told him what too get , we done it on a day work rate , because it was very fiddly and hard too price , plus we wanted to get it right without feeling rushed , he even supplied a couple of labourers to help , he paid up every friday never moaned when we wanted an early day lol .

If a backing coat is just flattened off with no mechanical key , the finish wil fail eventually
A wall with as much mechanical keys as poss is far better than one with misses everywhere! A continuous figure 8 should be applied,I'm not saying a deep key but a run over everywhere.comparing plasterboard and sand and cement..f**k me this place its full of cowboys..yeeeee harrrr
