I am in the process of buying a run down bungalow.

It has no gas fitted and we are not keen in getting gas fitted as gas seems a little bit old fashioned....

WHo has done what recently?

Air source heat pump with underfloor and insulate the hell out of it, get some bullshit solar panels if grantable. I have heard good things from some large plots done this way, bills are very reasonable after outlay, but hey! Saving the planet too.

I will have a look at air source heat pumps/...

We insulated the hell out of a current property and we have still not turned any heating on yet

Don’t get air source. Takes electricity to run, and costs a fortune initially. Never going to get your money back.

Go with gas and insulate the hell out of it...thats what I've done on last 2 developments and bills are low. Just make sure you have s**t hot extractors in kitchen and bathrooms...trickle vents in windows.

No long finished my bungalow we had log burner's and oil I've got though a 1000 litres and about a ton off logs since September its to expensive,
Nearly every job I do is a rural detached new build and they all seem to be having these air source pumps

seems old fashioned and trickle vents in windows seem to be backwards.. I did not fit them in this property and is so much better

Yeah I will be doing this anyway :D
Fired up the Rayburn for winter ready for the Turkey and mince pies, I've had it running for two days at 200c it's very efficient one log every 4 hours two logs for overnight burn

I didn’t put trickle vents in my last house and it ended up getting condensation and mould everywhere, absolute nightmare

Heat recovery charcoal filtered ventilation
I've posted before about all the nasty gas off from modern products
Do you want to hear about sitting the house on poly rafts and rotating for solar lol
