Sooo i pretty much just ignored all your advice and have decided to have at it myself. Knocked off what I could, have just bonded it and will start the skim tomorrow.

The reason I don't want to pay someone is because plasterers charge the earth. Obviously I couldn't fit a boiler or rewire a house myself, but plastering looks easyyy. Most plasterers were thick af in school. Not forking out a tonne of money to a peasant who struggled with his BTECs.
well awarding you the title of gob on a stick, and also boy with a mans heed, not often i agree with kinky boy, in fact this is first time , but please do put some photos up, just wish i was there tomorrow watching you skimming ,.......in fact hold off for a few days give us all a chance to come down and watch you give a master class

"Gob on a stick", "boy with a man's head". Jeez. They're awful lmao.

If you bothered to read above you would know this is my first time plastering, a shoddy old kitchen no less, so I am not expecting perfection. I'll post pics when done.

f**k off you w**k*r I think the question is you can't afford to pay for a professional plasterer, your brand new boiler and rewire took up all your budget

Also worth nothing that the tools I'm using are cheap and cheerful from Wickes or Homebase. None of this £50 on a Marshaltown/Nela shite. No snazzy flexi trowel. No cheating speedskim. Just me, my trowel and I.

And you did so well at school you can't afford a peasant to come and plaster the walls in your shitty little kitchen. Off ya trot

What’s your profession then may I ask? As we are all thick as f**k maybe your in a highly skilled professional position, therefore afford the services of a decent plasterer that can carry out the much needed work on your s**t hole crack den house you have.
May I add I have 9 GCSEs 2 a-c. Went to college did hnc and degree in mechanical engineering, along with cad and 3D modelling. But earn considerably more money doing plastering and it’s something I enjoy (most the time, as not working for T***s like you). then charge people like you vast amounts of money for the expertise and knowledge you come here to gain.

I did very well in school. And college. And university (twice), but I'm also not afraid to get my hands a bit dirty and try a bit of plastering because it looks easy as piss.

Yes, you can ask, but I won't answer. All I can say is my profession requires more intellect than just slapping up plaster all day. Enjoy RSD and arthritis, buddy.

*you’re

God. This man really tried hyping up his NVQ and shocking GCSEs.
Just a mistype whilst replying to your dribble. At a guess that’s got to be a rental as nobody would live in a house that bad in this day and age. Your damp wall isn’t going to be much good with some bonding over it.- You can have that one for free

It was papered over so the damp and shoddy wall was hidden until I stripped it all. Pretty sure the damp was caused by the overflow tank which has now been removed.

Too late. Already bonded.
