Another new trowel from NELA - PREMIUM ELITE

I think everyone with experience would tweek it a bit themselves to customise it to how they like anyway.

That said, 3 hits of laying on flatten and trowel it's pretty much there. The actual finish edge of the blade is as close as I've seen to 'ready' out the box.

The burnishing - dressed down edge that is around 3mm on the face of a 'pre worn' marshall is a bit smaller on the nela elite.

So i think it wears in way quicker.
Own up mate, you got it as a freebie didn’t ya! ;)

Well you should have, the way you’ve been promoting it for them mate. (y)

No such joy.

Just hope I've helped people to either choose or leave them.

They won't be for everyone.

If my pics and info or opinion help people to choose to buy or dodge them, then that's worthwhile.

Don't think they're readily available for people to view in the tool shops just yet so... bit of a heads up is beneficial before splashing dough.

I’ve used myself just today I got a bit sandpaper on it but still needs to wear in I just put first coat with it yeh it leaves lines but just take them out speedskim no mithier
Any trowel that leaves lines on flat work go straight in the bin clearly bent the wrong way

Spent about half an hour on mine before giving it a whirl, very nice trowel. Giving it another go on the blocks and strop and it'll be just right

It's going to chatter like a tramps teeth in winter that is with a shank that short And yet another person having to spend time getting a ready to use trowel ready to use

Nothing against them what so ever mate. But in 20 odd years of plastering I have never seen a decent trowel with a short shank. Too much flex and they chatter. I can only speak from experience.

This is on the 18”, and I am clarifying this with NELA, the 14” and 16” don’t have a short shank like this.

I brought a nela flex about 3 years ago my knuckles used to catch on the shank like the handle was to close and give up on them but I've never heard the same complaint

Hi I’m new to this site have to say all this f##king around with this trowel and that just an 18 mt and NELA super flex all u need speed skims is useful to but I’m not one for new trowels every other week Radio is a must have mind
