TPF Official Fishing Thread

Excuse me for resuming activity in 2018's topic, but I need some advice. I love fishing but I've only been doing it for half a year. Before that, I used only a fishing net and fishing rods, but now I want to go to a new level. My friends advised me to buy a boat with a motor, but I think it is very stupid, because this way I will scare the fish with a lot of noise, they probably just joked on me. I think it's better to buy a kayak or a regular boat. I read a couple of articles about kayaks and I really liked them. The article about the best fishing kayaks seemed especially good to me. Guys, help me decide.
Come back when you've been doing for longer than half a year. Leave it until you've done six months.

It's at Perch Rock on the Wirral.
Get there 3 hours before low tide, use mackerel as bait... Or squid and Sandeel and good chance of landing a decent thornie.

I was catching smoothies most of the summer. Had a huge tope as well. All off a kayak. Terrifying but good fun.

Wish I kept a couple of smoothies though

some of those ocean kayak fishing videos on youtube are terrifying - hammerheads attacking, etc.

Not that I feel sorry for them - they're total knob-jockeys for sitting in a tiny kayak and casting bait into shark-infested water. All I'm saying is it's terrifying to see.
