Then how did it get called a hawk, which is the name of the tool. If you didn't know it was called a hawk you'd probably describe it as a board you hold in your hand. My theory is place's that call it a handboard were the least educated so just called it from what it looked like. Now if they'd been able to read then they would have known that its called a hawk
