Agree. 339 issues in one house alone! How can they be allowed to continue?! Got to feel for these people thinking they’re buying problem free houses.

It's driven by greed , on both sides of the fence , if customers were truly interested in a quality home they would inspect properly before buying , most see as a plot that will increase in value so are buying blind and only have themselves to blame

Don’t they have to buy before the property is even finished. Then they have time to find any faults and have them sorted. If they were bought when they were finished and had to be inspected first it would solve a lot of the problems.

Would make sense but as I said , greed drives silly decisions

its not so much 339 issues in one house rossi, which is bad enough, but what about the forman/site agent/clerk of the works etc these are supposed to be qualified experienced people, yet time and time again shoddy, bad work is not picked up by them

You don’t think it’s because they want a roof over their head then? That aside it’s no excuse to think oh they only want to make money out of them so let’s give them a pile of s**t, I’m sure you don’t think like that when renovating someone’s house they are going to sell at a vast profit

Quality of new build developers has been an issue for many many years , if the customers haven't wised up by now that leaves the question why ,
None of my concern if a customer makes profit as , one day they may loose , personally gambling is not my game

you have plenty more problems with old houses than new builds.

my brother bought his persimmon home for £240000 about 3/4 years ago
now valued at £300000
decent house on the sea front.

But you don’t leave a s**t job for them that is my point

They are normally glorified fork lift drivers with no real knowledge of building a house

Ours was a Charles Church but simply a Persimmon under a different name. Rushed through for a 21st December completion date that we were forced to accept. Despite poor quality, solicitors states that a house is a house if it has doors, roof, windows etc. Regardless of any defects.

Ours was that bad we found so many defects and thought what is a house buyer to know what should and should not be done. So enlisted a Chartered Surveyor to report.

house was handed back for them to fix. Every weekend we would go and see our house to see what progress was made. Defects were circled on walls etc but never fixed. After 5 months of this we wanted to get our house back despite them clearly not attempting defects they had circled etc.

in sales the sell on perceived quality yet when there is a problem they fall back on the bare minimum NHBC standards. Last straw was finding stairs did not meet building regs.

had to go to small claims court as did not trust them with any further rectification works. It is sad that you have more rights buying a kettle than you do a house.

I have little sympathy with people getting stung with a new build to be honest. It's the most expensive thing people will buy, yet they do fcuk all research into something which is going to put them in debt up to their eyeballs. It'd be comical if it wasn't so ridiculous.

The life expectancy for a timber frame is 30-40 years, so in 20 years from now I expect there will be a lot of howling because they're unmortgageable. Yet the information is there now for anyone to see.

My daughter on her fiance I've gone for a new build I've tried to tell them but won't listen still in their early 20s and giddy headed they're both in the military and haven't got a clue about anything other than there occupation it's just got to be brand new f****** stupid.

That's youngsters with everything now for some reason. Car, van, house, all have to be brand new and if you suggest taking some stuff out of your kitchen or giving them a few bits of furniture when they move out they look at you like you've insisted that they have a bowl of sick for breakfast.
