tradies

hi , I am a 20 year old whos looking at starting up an apprenticeship. I have been working with a plasterer for a few weeks and he wants me to do an apprenticeship with him . I was only testing out the trade to see what it was like . should I go for the apprenticeship with him or test out other trades first and than decide? thanks

All the trades have pros and cons. Off the top of my head here's some of the things I don't like:
I'm not even 30 and I have the joints of an old crone.
My hand is that calloused it looks like I have a serious chronic masterbation problem.
My lungs are probably buggered from years of not wearing a mask.
I spend hours every week cleaning my f**k**g van.
You get sick to the back teeth of "did you get any on the wall"
At the end of the day it's like any trade you get out of it what you put in. If you've enjoyed the last few weeks with this guy then crack on.

The way things are going i would take it. Learn as much as you can from him and don't f**k off to work for yourself as soon as you can skim a wall or two. When you have a trade you can always earn some money good times and bad and the bad times are coming .

I'm getting the distinct feeling that "he wants me to do an apprenticeship with him" is a euphemism for something vile and degrading.

Well to me it sounds like he's thinking of giving him a chance that's how it comes across from where I'm sat.being pro active would be begging him for a job

Could be either or everything in between. If he doesn’t know any other spreads then he’s got a bit of gumption for asking the question.

Sounds to me you are in a good place and should commit to doing a couple of years. Times are not great for getting a job at the mo...
You will hate his guts sometimes but it will do you good long term
When he says jump you ask “how high sir?”

When he says jump you ask “how high sir?”
On when he says bend over ask "how deep sir" more like

At least he’s asking the question and being proactive.
