Going to use same slab as on top on the sides of my steps, what’s best to use to stick them?

If it is slate then any tile adhesive for natural stone will do (external use)
Personally I have never found anything that can beat clear silicone.

What exactly is Ronafix? I used it over thirty years ago and just assumed that it is SBR.

It is SBR.
The strongest, neatest version I think you can get in the uk.
There is another type in Europe that's not really available over here, which is superb.

But this has a high solid content. Makes it stick like anything and super waterproof.

Polyurethanes and MSP adhesives stick way better than silicone nowadays.

Watch a CT1 clip on YouTube, or even Sikaflex.

There are a lot of comparison tests on there.

When I worked on the building of Five Lakes Golf Club it was being delivered in 50 gallon drums at huge expense. This was when, I'm sure I'm right in saying, you couldn't walk into a merchants and buy SBR.

I agree both are fantastic products but a tad too expensive for most simple jobs.

I know, ct1 £12ish, sikaflex £6 or £7 ish
Wouldn't really use it daily or on loads of skirting or something.

Specialist when you really need it to stick/seal.

Good thing about ct1, is if you only use a tiny bit you can put the lid on and use it again later, even months later. I usually carry a tube on board.

Ct1 also make a brilliant roofing compound but again costs a fortune.
Can't remember the name.

I think WT1

Basically a massive tub of rubber.
In the ad for it, they did a football stand.

Probably on YouTube, yep, bloody expensive too.
