Any one do airless ?

Just finishing a big airless job. It’s bang on and won’t go back to multi finish
I’ve potentially got a lot of old refurb and the thought of handballing the lot, high ceilings, 3 storeys I can’t help but think of giving airless a go.

I’m using it on big new build. It’s a far better finish than skim. Great when there is lots of windows with natural light shining down the wall and ceiling. I would stick a pic up but not bothered on this job.

Have you done much refurb with it?

No mate. I’m sure it would be good though. It goes on really thin 1mm a coat so will follow what’s behind.

Problems I have is with dodgy boarding. I have to check everything is totally flat and square before spraying. You can’t build out sections of walls or around beads/door frames like you can with skim.

Can you not bond it out first?

This is why it will never EVER kick off over here, shite studwork you need to get over,I.e roofing brackets etc sitting 5-10mm proud to ceilings etc..the money is not there at all.it will only ever be a niche market

But this is when you ask yourself is a bit more time and a LOT less effort not worth slightly less money. Surely in some cases more money. It would save the old bones and that wiped out at weekends feeling.

I dont feel wiped out at weekends at all..I feel fit as a fiddle I look after myself, only drink on weekends mainly sat night, dont eat shite everyday etc just occasionally on weekends, worst thing I get is cramped fingers from time to time

Guys, 1) Gloss paint would need to be keyed, emulsion paints can be sprayed over. 2) speed wise in a single room, I would agree traditional would be as quick if not quicker in terms of wverall time, but airless would enable you tp prep and first coat in a morning, work elsewhwere in the afternoon, increasing productivity.
work elsewhwere in the afternoon ????
erm are you having a laugh ?

Well I eat pies 5 times a day, drink nothing but Stella, even at work and I really don’t look after myself. Maybe you’re on to something there.
