HI there,

Just a few questions as there is not a great amount online that i can see with this product. (Natural Hydraulic Lime)
Whats the general mix ratio using this product on external render? First and second coat?

Also is there anything that can be added to slow down the setting time for when rubbing it up?

what ratio would you use if using a harling coat?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

No you can't add anything to mix to slow down set ...

Make sure walls are damp even if you need to hose down couple times

Try not to work in direct sun

Yes you could use it as a primer ....will reduce suction
Have you seen price of it....Would be an expensive way of doing it though

Do you use hessian to cover work m8.? If so wher the best place to buy it. Not cheap is it?

We only use prebagged lime renders because we have a plastering machine which does make it easier to apply (although they come with their own problems)

That must be a big job with 4.5 k mats

Could not go back to mixing and hand applying large outside wall areas

Il do it the old school way harl whith p gravel get a couple of tones of sharp soft sand fibre in scratch sponge finish

yes it’s too expensive, if your doing lime work day in day out watering it down over again you get used to it.

I've stared to use one of these ta damp work down gives it a light spray only takes 2minute when it full goes far

You could use Scaffold debris netting instead of hessian. Get the 3m wide roll, plenty on ebay.

Give it all a wet down but don't drown it or you will have problems at the bottom. So long as its not in the sun or dry breeze you will be ok. You can cover it up as you go with the debris netting if you want to keep the air off it.

Does that netting do the same job then m8? That hessian not cheap is it

Depends where you live sand varies grain size can cause cracking and crazing soft sand is far too dirty you need washed, sharp sand can be too gritty... the list goes on the is just as much skill in picking the material to spreading it up the wall! I always knock this type of gear up a few days before leave it in a bath then turn it over again before you use it it’s 10 times better. You can also buy pre bagged aggregates off most of the big lime supplies now
