Hi - we've had 7 responses all favouring pre-posted questions in response to the invite for a Q&A session with us this week. As @zombie points out they really big question is - when will stock be available? Can you please drop a note on this thread with any other questions you've got? Thanks

When all of you’re products are being shipped out will they be shared equally between the big developers and joe public?? Just to make them more accessible to everyone at this difficult time. If that’s not so, then do you think that’s fair?

Like they care pal!

Do you really think they would put any bad publicity a public forum!!!!

They dont care, why should they?

Imigine if every person in the UK had to use you as a plasterer with no other option would you care what they think?
Yes I would care it’s called having pride in what you do.

Supply chain starting to open up according to this article..

Taken from building.co.uk site coronavirus update 28th April.

Build UK is also receiving confirmation that the materials supply chain is starting to open up. You can help to accelerate this process by demonstrating the levels of demand via our short Materials & Accommodation Survey as soon as possible and by 5:00pm on Wednesday 29 April at the latest.

@BritishGypsum is there a way for the near future to limit supply purely to places that sell to trade. I understand bob from number 32 is bored and wants to have ago at messing his bedroom wall up but for every bag that is sold to people attempting DIY it will mean bags tradesman dont have and therefore loose income from lack of materials. Thanks
Crazy idea, that would be like asking off license's to only supply alcoholics.

In times of shortage, it's not unheard of to ration to those most in need of products, big sites getting first production obviously but then I dont think it would be unreasonable to supply purely trade outlets as a priority before b and q gets its shelves filled

Its a good shout. Then Travis and buildbase etc can only sell it to trade customers

Rare sighting of British Gypsum truck from this youtube clip posted today.

When is the next mine tour?
Never mind that s**t!! We want plaster and to be able to go back to work!!
Is British gympsum being run by the government!! No wonder knauf are starting to take over... Get this sorted!! f**k**g disgrace.. Do you want the country to collapse!!!!!!

At the same price as multi aswell !!!!
Talking of price. Builders merchants now aren't honouring trade prices you have set up on accounts. Instead charging £9 plus a bag. Some as much as £15

Morning @Nath80 there was a strong lean towards people posting questions, so we're just in the process of responding and will post them up today. Cheers

Hi @mick296 people have been posting their questions, this was the preferred option! So we're just gathering the responses and drafting a reply (as I type this...) We will post this up today. This isn't a one-off - we're happy to keep taking questions. If there is a strong desire for a video-chat we can make this happen too!

Why do you feel big sites deserve to be supplied first, why is a big housebuilder who screws the contractors down to working for a couple of quid a mtr more deserving than yourself?
Also many plasterers use the sheds and pick up what they need on the way to a job.
This virus should have shown us that less is more, we don't need new phones every twelve months, we don't need new cars every three years and we shouldn't be encouraging big buisness that speed and dumbing down of traditional skills is the way forward.

My only question is pretty simple.. when will Wickes, B&Q and other builders merchants actually have multifinish/bonding in store and what branches will have them first?
Yep , Travis etc don't store in good environment , Wickes is top notch storage with fresh turnover
