Hi, I have a plaster cast of my grandfathers hand that is missing a finger and has a deep hole in the palm of his hand that i'd like to fill and sculpt to complete it.

What is the best way to fill the area with something that is sculptable and will also cure to be painted?

Thanks in advance.

Plaster of paris (or Polyfilla) would do the trick. Be sure to dampen the damaged plaster before you apply the fresh plaster, as it will bond better. You can either try to sculpt the new plaster while it's soft, or you can apply it oversize and file it accurately to shape after it has solidified.

If you need more guidance, you could try looking for youtube videos on repairing old picture frames, but many of those will suggest creating a mould for the new plaster, which is not so relevant for your situation.

I have to agree with the other commenters, that your question is (whether you intended it or not) just begging for some crude jokes, but I'm going to be polite.

Maybe you could use clay to take a mould of your own finger and fill it with casting plaster. You could attach it using the same plaster. Or gorilla glue! But use filler if there’s a seam so you can sand it
