I'll play devils advocate ,
Out of order and just sums up society driven along by the press , more and more public services getting prosecuted for not making them immune from catastrophe , often of their own making
Obvious condolences to those involved but to spend half your life trying to lynch someone in authority wtf

I could write a book about south yorkshire police I despise the b*****d the most bent, corrupt organisation in England.

There wrotten to the core orgreave, hillsboro, grooming case etc every time they just lie and cover there backs and this comes from the very top.

I could tell you stories you wouldn't believe from the criminals involved with syp it's frightening.

I believe you , the bad side of leftover Sweeney days combined with human rights lawyers it's a breeding ground for bent system , Don't think people join up with the intention of becoming corrupt . But not particularly singling the cops tho more a dig at people who sue authorities , plenty of botched operations happen , suicides in prison , lost youth in so called foster care . We just seem to need to hound and lynch a bit too much for what's healthy and think the press has a lot to answer for it's like the tail wagging the dog , we'll end up with more and more defensive closed ranks in services

So less scrutiny equals a more open system can't see any evidence for that.

Perhaps not , it's the emotional driving force that I don't like , from the point that it encourages the public to sue and lynch for a mistake rather than criminal intent

Some mistakes carry the burden of criminal investigation and that is how it should be.
BTW "lynch" and "sue" come on.

How would it feel for the one in the dock , their name all over the papers , someone who went to work with good intentions , the police chief at Hillsborough in this case , goes to work in a new position and makes a mistake in controlling a crowd of people pushing to get in , commonly a tactic to get in for free , these pushers take no public blame for their actions

Making a mistake is 1 thing, collaborating police statements and lying through your teeth is something else.

I'd gladly stick a pint pot in his face and twist it a couple of times and not loose an ounce of sleep the mans a disgrace!

No remorse, no apologies all he's ever been bothered about is his pension.

A million examples like this in NI

It's the same with the female chief constable for Grenville , i understand where you're both coming from , I always try to view it from all sides , as I said a person who dedicated their life to making sure that nothing goes wrong is suddenly in the public shame gallery for a mistake , not uncommon to be defensive with press and public demanding apologies , resignation and loss of an entire career pension for one mistake in thousands of delicate judgement decisions ,

You're pretty much pushing the same narrative as the original enquiry.

As ignorant or arrogant he may appear , I see it as if he hadn't opened the gate and people had been injured he may have we'll still been in court yet those pushing and causing the problem are guilt free .
Hillsborough and Grenville are examples of my main gripe of a society that always wants to blame someone in office and I'm my opinion grief is an understandable main instergater but the press sensationalise this and are distorting public behaviour , we now have Nurses and doctors in the same position if someone's 80 year old grandad doesn't make it out of a major operation , it's not a good outlook for potential servants for our services

I didn't follow it so am using it as an example of social direction with press is not always a good thing , creating a more defensive closed ranks reaction

Well if you didn't follow it then it's not a good place to play "devil's advocate" you've got a wider point of vexatious claims against the state. I think this situation is not the one to ride your opinions on.

See it as fair game , I'm surly not that far off the mark so how about Grenville ? Stay put was standard practice , still probably is and possibly has saved hundreds of lives , went wrong this time and lessons should be learnt but doesn't mean theirs not another unforseen disaster in the waiting

You're all over the place pinging from one situation to another and no real cohesion in you're opinions.

What I'm getting at is i see the blonde lady on news press after court moaning that someone's got to be responsible , no mention of those pushing at the back , no mention from any corner of the press to put this side of things

Just leave it.

John, you're one of the nicest guys on here, have a spliff mate. In fact roll us all one x
I'm too old for it now mate , I struggle to get past a second can of beer lol , always been lucky like that , go off things at an instant , I think that's why I enjoy plastering , its the commitment of a decent set that doesn't seem to die , when I was younger I'd happily get a plant and do three or four days immersed in a project with no direction of an end goal , just the joy of the journey , went to do a degree in electrical engineering and dropped it for women and booze , don't regret it , plastering pays me to do whatever I fancy with little commitment , I have the time to indulge in internet wanderings ,might study chemistry next
Just mouth your safe word @ChrispyUK
Chrispy knows when to bail , I just have to mention Makita radio base reduction come lol
