Hi
Just bought a house 3 bed 1930 semi , we have had it rewired. I think the walls are sand and cement, stripping the walls we have noticed the walls are in a bad way cracks everywhere , both old and new from the rewire .
Im looking for advise- realistically we can’t afford to take all the walls back to brick replaster. Also some of the walls are curved edges and we want to keep this feature.
- can we reskim with modern plaster on the worst walls (really don’t like lining paper)

Also on one patch looks like it has been skimmed when we removed the wallpaper a patch of plaster came with it. Any advise regarding patching this ?
il add pictures of the plaster (because the walls are lime wash you can’t see the cracks probably )
Thanks.

Did a job last year. Just ceiling and a few walls . Dad was gonna do test to save cash.
Tons of cables coming through one wall.
I asks whall cables are for.
For all singing and dancing cinema set up

Hector has said it all , and politely as you can expect
Spent most of my indoors career with customers like you and not put off as I enjoy the challenge lol
Your set on this false economic path as you already made the fatal error by employing a sparky who didn't question your plan and happily charged you loads of extra work chasing out , which has compounded the overskim problems , lol , go go sparks and diy project advise of the " wise " in the
order of works, no offence mate , sue the sparks lol
A good over skimmer will sort it
Finding the right one is crucial
Inspect his previous work with a customers and ask what was it like before it was covered
Let the " good ' over skimmer advise you on cost and time
Ask a new build , float and set or dot and dab do the same
Make your decision
Don't hassle for cheap price , you will encourage poor quality practice you will know nothing about until a season or two later

If walls are solid enough you could put a coat of bonding and render mesh then rekim.

Or if moneys tight. And to be far if I had bought a house I.d dothe electrics first. (Plastering wont burn your house down).
Just rough out all cables and wait till you can afford job doing. .
Start with lounge then main bedrooms etc

Was just making the point about the cost of sparks in chasing out and further plaster damage not being taken into consideration , makes me laugh ,
Not in your shorts today I see john lol

What limewash comment
In op, this is a dodgy cover up , it can be done but total false economy , the mess is made , do it properly , covering a rooms walls cos it's already carpeted and lived in is worth the effort , not so in this case

This house is a prime example of double visit skimming that I posted a while back for your entertainment lol

Just looking at those pics you are going to be shelling out a few bob to get that house in order, that's what you can expect buying a 1930,s house. There money pits but can be beautiful if done right! Bit like classic cars...

Just put them on front of the walls put plasterboard on top can put new wall sockets on easy job. That way u don't touch the old Walls.

That's 5" off the hallway ,
post was another joke from danny , keeps the hits up for advertising stats

It’s not sand and cement, your pic shows sand and lime work , which most likely means it’s all live and and needs hacking off, anything else is purely cosmetic
