Tapit tape fail

car boot sales gonna be busy as f**k Christmas coming up though so you'll probably shift it all! Glitter it up and say it's tinsel!!!

I can't believe you're skimming over that tbh. I'd at least have scraped off the old tile adhesive. I don't mind a few handfuls of bonding in with multi but I wouldn't be going over that personally
Why? The bead is proud of the adhesive because it’s sat on top of it, have you never tried a 50/50 mix? A couple of handfuls of bonding doesn’t do much, I’d you tried that over a rough background it just slumps like skim alone would.
Another good thing the gear hangs for ages so I had the full room on first coat together window reveals boxing in the lot
It’s being tiled floor to ceiling so it was mainly to flatten for the tiler but you could paint it and it would look sound.
I still scraped all the bigger bits off but that tile adhesive was about 2/3mm thick at worst

i remember @Tinytom saying he only used 1 strip of tape per bead.
beads should be fixed at top ,bottom and then at 600 centres with a minimum of three strips per bead.
After launch of beadtape i will be attempting to get it approved as a british standard application.
staples or clouts into mortar are NOT BS approved.

Not sure if you can see but I did put 2/3 pieces on the window and the longer horizontal bead on the boxing in (not pictured) had 3/4 pieces on

I thought it must not be being painted lol

Fair play for him to try this tape. Myself good idea if you stick them on whith tape then mix just enough pink just to secure them if your not ther for a couple of days. But no good if the corners are out.

I can assure you I’m right on this one but I’m not reading back through all his shite to prove it. Lol
It was actually one of the reasons I slated it because he said you had to tape first and bead second. I said well that's s**t as it's going to take even longer waiting for the PVA to go off before I can skim

Tape first and bead second? Don’t get it.

The main reason for the fail here is the ridged surface its applied to.
Its adhesive tape at the end of the day and surface needs to be flat.
it would have been good to scrape old tile adhesive of in local areas of tape.
That combined with amount of time between application and use would not help.
It's all very good feedback though and it will be bang on when launched.

So your saying it’s only good for plasterboard application now then! Pfft what a joke!
HOW MANY ROLLS??

There will also be a Sbeadscrim tape which will be a gamechanger.
Tape primer for problem surfaces and maybe woolie hats.
