Out of date casting plaster.

Hello, I know somebody who has 15 bags of 25kg siniat casting plaster. Just the bog standard stuff. It's 2.5 years out of date or there abouts, but it's very cheap per bag. Do you think it would be OK to make my demo's/showroom pieces. Ever used it? Is it any good? Cheers guys.

Get a sieve and give it a go? Test a bag. I’m yet to come across a bag that wasn’t out of date but that’s pretty far out of date though!

We’ve got a part bag that’s about six years old kept in an old Ames bucket with the lid on, use it for fibrous repairs and making good chives in a wall

I’m not sure a chase is cutting out for sparky wires down south, a chive is just a hole or gash but probably only to me
I like the gyproc joint finish in the red bag have 30 odd bags in workshop fell off back of a wagon 3years ago sets in about 5 minutes over fill patch then scrape back also do all my fibrous screw holes anb mitres with it same colour to

Anything that works I say, does it hang about long enough for coating the jute scrim when filling joints and mitres?

we where always told the pink came from down south ours always grey up inlancashire pink was always a treat
Ours never really turned to pink until the birth of hardwall then after that it gradually changed to pink but we use to think it was pink up north all the time

I liked carlite finish too and board finish but the board finish seemed different from today’s shite. We used bonding sixty today and to be honest I thought it was like the bonding from years ago when if you didn’t cut your angles out quick enough they went hard as f**k and you had to clean your shovel and mixing tray often otherwise you ended up running a brick with water over your shovel to get the stuff off, happy days

remember your flat brush if u left it overnight in water bucket swelled 3 times its size

Know what you mean, I pretty much use mine for cleaning my trowel or flicking a bit of water at bonding so it devils up without tearing

That’s a new one for me, I sometimes use a scratcher in circular movements if it’s a small bit and can’t be bothered to go to the van
