seperate the real from the chancers

This is where retention started mate.
Now they just take the doors out to cover patchers ...sad but true.

That's the thing with plastering ...it's only when the lights go on faults appear... plastering could be flawless.
It's the Shiite were trying to get over.
You pay decent rates aswell mate.
internals can usually call out the chancers day 1.

but i wanna be more protected on the renders. cost alot to.put them.right
..

im.always a believer of pay a decent rate get a decent man but it seems to not be case latly

Internals ye.

Isn't there a deal which you strike up with your renders ??

Any fuuck ups it's Thier problem ?
Then again its you reputation :(

yeah always say your f**k.up.. but im.now thinking if ive got a legal doc stating i will hold monies back it may get them to take more care

All the firms I work for house builders hold back a retention on contractor's...in case of bad work.
I know persimmon contract managers who admit if they get 10 complaints out of 100 houses it's a bonus.

We did houses for neptune/ocp and they never give the retention back to our boss, but give him no reason to keep it. Ppl in the houses and all, no call backs etc. Boy I used to work for kept 5 percent on his price(which was under 4quid, float and skim) yet if there was a problem you fixed it yourself anyway? Thought thwt was s**t.

It never has been the case mate.
I've only ever once had anyone else do a render for me, to much worry involved for my liking.

Oh absolutely, that's why I never took the opportunity to get bigger than I was (maximum of ten guys). I always knew that I could rectify any wayward internal work and just did all the outsides myself. It's why I even used to bead up every plot before letting them float out.
