Because he's a space boy and is playing football on a world with a radius of 48.5104 cm. The ball goes all the way around the planet and hits him on the back of the head.

Or he kicked it past Lurpak who is so fat that he has his own gravity for the same effect.
Lmao !!! He just kicked it in the air but from now on I’m going to say your answer

It is possible to loose fat and build muscle at the same time. Anyone who says it isn’t has never tried

Seems to be some dispute about that. Some say you can a bit at first.

There's an optical illusion at play too though.... that's what Shaun T makes all his money on.

People looking bigger because you can see more muscle.

Experts say this conception of training hard hit training etc is all balls! The average person who goes to the gym will not burn half of what they think there burning even though the machine says so. It’s all load of s**t.. an the percent that can achieve a decent burn are people who don’t work an just train with being a athlete in what ever sport. The way to do it they say is clean eating an portion control! The body burns more calories sitting on your ass blinking watching tv than hitting the gym. Do I 30 minute session ever other day is just a bonus

Iv never heard such a load of s**t in my whole life. Absolute b*ll***s

Just to clarify your talking to a qualified personal trainer, gym instructor, boot camp instructor, ex fitness model, ex paratrooper, 150kg bench and 220kg deadlift you can’t tell me s**t.

I've always taken the idea that it's a holistic thing.
You might smash a few hundred calories in the gym but that won't make up for a s**t diet.

The trick is to try to make as many good choices as possible.

Going to the gym is a good choice and eating chips is a bad one.

Eating pies and going to the gym is obviously better than eating pies and drinking guinness and not going to the gym.

100% agree with eating clean.... not so much portion control. Go to myfitnesspal and see just how much clean food you have to pile on to get to 2500 calories. It's a fucikng LOT!!!!!!

To be fair.... (I was a little more diplomatic than you) I think our friend is a little bit confused.

Maintenance calories are huge...going to the gym doesn't up them by a huge percentage.
HIIT training could be regarded as a fad- I've seen it marketed as the easy way to get fit in ten minutes. But it's not b*ll***s, it's just not a sliver bullet.
When people say things like that about athletes, they're talking about huge lifters eating silly amount sor athletes using energy drinks.

Yeah that’s what I was trying to put across

Yeah that’s what I was trying to put across

It really is very simple though.

Eat proper food and sweat 3-5 times a week. (Working hard might count) and you'll look all right.

It won't give you abs, but do you really want to dedicate your whole life to having abs? I haven't seen mine since I was about 25.

Why aren't we mentioning bananas? A simple slow burning carbrohydrate that will fill any gap. I;ve always been lucky that I don't carry weight. Research what you're putting into your body carbs wise, and what you're burning and do the calcs. Always try to enjoy the excersize and have days off. I'm at that point where the drive has gone for punishing myself physically on the bike so I look up and enjoy the scenery.

The perception of working hard and especially ‘pushing yourself to the limit’ is very different between civvis and military. My uncle bikes 6 days a week most days he’s doing between 30 and 60 miles but he’s still 17 stone fat and flabby. You’ve never pushed yourself until you’ve done a 10 miler at p company pace

Depends how many watts he's pushing out. If he was suffering on a bike maxxed out he would lose weight. I would have thought that you would be losing weight on army training though!

AACC wasn't exactly a giggle.

Mark you, I did that almost immediately after basic on the promise of going to a unit 'with very high morale'
You probably got the same talk at REME basic some years later.

To be honest, the hard bit of test phase was the fact that it was bam bam one after the other. The individual tests weren't necessarily all that hard... well, they were, but you know.

In all truth, I found basic harder just because people were being cnuts to me when I was 17, not very fit and fcuked. Army doctrine at the time was to take (almost)everyone who applied and not care less who couldn't take it. We lost over 60% of an RCT intake.

I still sometimes work so hard that I puke after an instructor led session. I find a certain combo of abs and cardio particularly difficult.

I don't think that because AKKI's approach it in a tougher way that military PT is better. It's just different. I fcukign hated it.

Eat less do more........dieter.
Eat well train hard........athlete.

Now I’m an office based lard arse ( luvvin it mind)........ I fear falling into the trap of thinking I need more calories than I actually do.

So I go to the gym.......there.
But I also watch my food intake. No booze......(well......)......very little bread, none white. Plenty of plant based meals, some laced with dead animals ( mmmmm).....
I cycle every day. When I go to the gym I try and do excersise that I couldn’t do at home or don’t have the equipment for.
I do it for my two year old grandson, coz’ I love playing with him.

Depends on how much you get to eat.....this was a long time ago but our training staff conspired to make sure that you didn't have time to eat enough. My mother was horrified when I passed out and she saw my weight. I'd been working on a building site for a year before I joined and was full of beer and my mother's packed lunches. Lifting stuff up a lot. I was starting to get a pair of shoulders.

Went from that to running about like a loon for 3 months and having to choose between queuing for breakfast and sorting my s**t out so as not to get shouted at and I lost a stone. I wasn't big to start with.

Lympstone was different.... five feeds a day but even then we were burning it.

this is what I mean,,your on about the army,, training every day I imagine an being pushed by yourself an others. That’s a different story. I’m talking about the everyday person who gets up an goes to work etc. They get fed this crap about do this an do that an your have a beach body, protein this protein that. It’s all just a money market. “ I believe “ You don’t need to exercise to the level people are saying to have a flat stomach. Why were people thinner 20 years compared to now? It’s all down to eating the wrong food. Kids are huge now it’s ridiculous. When I was at school there was 1/ 2 big kids.. now it’s half the class. Takeaway the bad foods an I can essure
You through time your waste line will drop. No mental fineness required.

I never did any army sevice and by your description ,I'm glad I didn't. As somebody was saying earlier, there's a difference between civvy and army training. Your process was about rebuilding you into what the army needs psychologically as well as physically. I think I would have been with you in trying to sort my sh**t out. I was always the last out the dressing room when I played football!

Basic was the same for us in 2002, you had to go to the scoff house but if you were near the back of the que you had time to eat from your tray as you walked to the table then it was time to bug out before you sat down. I lost over a stone too

Ummm... I'm not sorry I did it.

I'd tell my son that when bullets fly, you'll have the time of your life but that's not to say that you'll enjoy it. Grapple 3 was by no means a conventional action. Nor was Grapple 5.

Watch this if you're interested. I can't pick it up in any detail. Unlike most conflicts, it was absolutely not just the infantry who were involved. Everybody on the ground was. It was a f**k**g tragedy.

Aanyway.... part of getting into that was a crazy routine where the corporals were bullies and weren't above stealing from children. Which is pretty much what we were. There was a raffle each week with nothing to win. A TV to buy that we weren't allowed to watch. Shirts to buy off one corporal who's made them ... people who didn't have a shirt went to jail....No breakfast, no time.

We eventually found humour in it. Give it a few more years and it'll be like some story about Irish nuns.

Times don’t change much we were beaten black and blue by our corporals, 1 of them sold us snide gear and if you told him you didn’t want the knock off hackett t shirt you got a thrashing

We had to pay to have our boot sbeeswaxed..... the OC said 'Gosh... look at those boots. Has he beeswaxed them?'

'Looks like it Sir', said the man who'd done it. 'Not done a very good job of it either.'

And that was me forty quid down and a whole day's beasting.
