We'll be trying out a 'new' product/manufacturer tomorrow. Well, when I say we, I mean @Nisus will, an NHL insulating plaster. Lee may well do a @Vincey and be spamming promoting it.

Apparently Heritage plasterers are like thoroughbred horses, and don't do heavy work so that they are fresh for the artisan tasks. This is him supervising me shifting the plaster into the house for him.

How it should be

Is this finishing plaster? Does it have to go after something else? How is skim insulating? This is all too much! :frenetico:

As @Gibbo says, it's a backing plaster. Basically a modern version of the hairy stuff for years gone by. However, apparently it can be closed in and sponge finished if you don't want to top coat it. I'm sure @Nisus will be able to answer the plasterer type questions once he's fcuked about with tried it tomorrow. (y)

I’m soooo tempted to f**k off what I’m doing and hit the motorway.....

This is all so sudden. :chica: I'm flattered, but think of your poor new husband.
My poor husband treated me to “date night/evening”...
Rocked up to where I’m working and announced ‘I’m taking you home you scruffy oink!’ Went to the pub where he farted on a bench we were sharing with strangers and loudly blamed me! When I told him I was giving his date evening a score of 1 he replied ‘welcome to marriage, enjoy!’

He’s very lucky that I have the sense of humour of a 12 year old and freakishly find this s**t funny!

i saw other day on linkesin someone has rendered a house in that gear then silicone topped it. didnt think the two could mix

Why the fcuk would you do that? The main benefit of it is that it's breathable.

What are you going to finish with on top of it?

I'm not sure if we are going to use anything. It depends on the finish this gives TBH as they want a fairly open grainy texture. So I suppose it'll come down to how soft it is when it's fully cured, then make the call.

Lee's going to do some panels over the next couple of days, then he's off to rip off an old lady or two for a couple of weeks. By the time he's back to it on this job we'll know if it needs a top coat.

‘l*m*-g***n’ do one like that. It’s got tiny balls in it that insulate. I topped that with putty. It was sh@t to work with compared to haired hydraulic, I wonder if this ones better.

Top coat :wtf: this was never mentioned over our ploughmans and beer at the pub earlier and it wasn't in our heritage contract, I told you I'm a onecoat specialist :inocente:

@maltman777

Would you like to explain why you disagree or dislike everything I’ve said on this post? You must feel quite strongly about this product and have some solid opinions on it? (And on me having a laugh with Si in the pub?)
