My skimming

I struggled for a while with multi and changed my method and technique to get to dry one even colour , sometimes it was looking stripey when drying ( next day ) , although it never felt like there was any issues i was not happy with the look of i was leaving . I have got it sorted out now .

My skimming always look s**t but paints good y it just not pleasing to the eye the plastering
Put some pics up Andy, it's straight forward enough.

Nice one mate but how a new tools

Ain't that the same as the nela s*p*r*lex 0.3 blade whatscthe difference mate?
Well my Ox has an unreal amount of edge mate i put Nela cork handle on it and it's always my go too trowel but my Nela 14 inch is damaged very similar but my Ox just feels awesome to trowel up with

I got a mediflex trying that out ATM not close to OX but not fully worn in yet, I also got a Nela super 16 inch to wear in from new haha too many trowels

I think
Two lads I know have Ox and both don't use anything else but ones just got some Refina trowels but he hates them lol

I think ox have raised their game in the past couple of years. Their new stainless trowels I think are awesome, not tried their flex yet

Yes m8 10 years ago only had two trowel one for rendering one for skimming now a day you got about 10 different trowel to skim lol money making. But I do love the speed skim on ceilings makes my life easy the days of dreading ceilings are long gone

I’m sure nela now make ox, pretty surevthats what I’ve read somewhere on here so that would explain it. Ox’s premium used to be like a flex trowel

Honestly if you don't have a Nela s*p*r*lex get an Ox instead they are really good but change handle to cork

I would highly recommend the nela. By far best trowels I’ve owned. Premium and super flex. I want the mediflex too but think it might be overkill

I had the Nelas since the outset but fell out of love with them for a while and stuck to carbon MTs. Sharpened up the original mt extralites have a bit of flex so perform in a similar way . @Dropsalot succinctly described a super flex as nothing more than a worn in carbon steel. I quite like the mediflex though

Everyone I know apart from one lad use steel or flex, the lad who uses carbon has two old marshaltown sharp as f**k but he stopped using them as they were too fragile in the end, he's an older chap and he was the one who got me into the flex trowels haha

Also sorry a lad who work with raved on about old tyzack saying they was the bees nees when worn in lol I'm too young for these carbons lol

Yet but but it like it got white clouds on the f**k**g walls
What
Yes but every trowel will leave lines when plaster is wet?
Don't worry about lines through it on speed skim over first coat second one take more care speed skim again as soon as pos. put the kettle on when you finished your cup of tea one trowel over do not use to much water
