I much prefer a wooden handle but most of my trowels have the rubber ones. I rarely see them for sale with the wooden handles and I never get round to ordering them separately.

I use to prefer tyzack trowels but liked the handle on marshaltowns. So would swap them over. Back then marshaltowns weren't as well made, they'd pop rivets long before a tyzack.

All my old trowel are wood heres two from the shed. Both marshaltowns one ss the other steel.

Never really had a problem with either. With use they both get a gloss from constant use, more so with wood. With wood you can sand them back. My main trowel is rubber handled ss tyzack. Its a tyzack in name only, still like it though.

Don’t know if it’s just me but rubber wears aware down to the metal at point of pressure in between v of thumb and first finger on the top of handle but wood doesn’t and feels better for me , smooth, light and solid too
Is it new tyzack?

I have never once worn out a rubber handle, even back when I was doing thousands of metres of S&C F&S.
Although I prefer a wooden handle the rubber can't seem that bad to me or I would make sure to get a wooden one, and I never have.

Cork lol. Thats on nella but prefer rubber these days . Used to have wood but think rubber makes it easier on hand personnally

Never wore out a rubber handle either and we also do lots of sand cement. Depends on how you grip your trowel.

I reckon that's a faulty handle mate as it doesn't even look remotely worn out apart from that bit of gold plastic grinning through. I have them way more worn without the centre piece showing.
Seriously mate I must of had 7 lime it over time I been plastering even @Rossi46 commented a few years ago about how worn rubber was on my trowels
No worries any way bud , I happy with my wood

Wood. Coz you can sand it “rough” to give a better grip, eventually it’ll be the exact shape of your hand.....mmmmm

when I served my time we made our own wood floats for rubbing up etc the handles where cut out rough shape by joiners and we finished it off with a broken milk bottle shaving it to shape anybody remember that?

Wood all day I find the rubber ones either shrink or get compressed then my hand cramps, never get that with wood unless I sand the handle down which I used to do like a silly old t**t a,so rubber ones wear a groove where my thumb goes. Having said that I worked with a couple of brothers and they used to wear a thumb groove on wooden handles only spindley old buggers too

Well asked fork cork handle guess i didnt get cork doh . Year old n handles f**k*d. Anyone else had prob with nella
