Is it just my imagination, or have hand tool prices gone up quite a bit recently? Power (battery or 110/240v) seem to have been stable for a while, but decent quality hand tools seem to have been steadily increasing for the last few years.

Give it a few months

Was looking at the dewalt drill the other day as I seen a special offer on it but even with the discount couldn’t stop thinking how much batteries inc worked out in cost
Buckets seem same price as normal and work clothes I buy for coming winter though

You have till the end of the year to make the most of it! That’s coming from the top btw.

Got my last 3 dewalts from ITS. Each one on offer. Not bad prices and always worth a peruse through their site

yup... everything has gone I think.... timber prices is making me weep

Be thankful you're not using hardwood. The green oak I'm buying for the frame repairs is coming in at over £3,000 per cubic metre for the 8" beams. If you need any of the 11" above three metre lengths it's over double that.

Timber frame repairs are an expensive game, which is why I can't get my head around how few people get specialist surveys before buying an oak framed property.
