How do choose what type of render to use?

Hi we have a Victorian end terrace house. There is an extension on the back so bricks don't match & an owner before us has painted the side wall. We would like to render the side of the house to tie the finish all together. Additionally we are having an extension on the side to build a utility room. Having read information online I'm not sure what type of render would be best. I was thinking monocouche but a guy who came to quote said sand & cement is better. Can someone advise me please? Thanks in advance.

Honest answer save your money towards your next move to a semi etc.

Your just going to spend for no return imo

I would get a few more quotes from reputable renderers in your area....
