One of those where your first experience is fish after fish, one fish or no fish and a wet and miserable time. I'm after bigger fish, so its a bit like going back to the beginning at mo as I'm learning and experimenting with different techniques.

On the right day though mate, it's a fab way to spend a day :)

On a shite day it's still a fab way to spend a day.

Nice one @ChrispyUK.
Would say that I don't consider fishing a past time though, it is what defines me. Snap me in half and you'll find that I'm made out of S&C with the word angling running through me.

Ha ha.

Good one Andy. You're well respected here for your plastering knowledge and now for your fishing skills. It will be a bit of fun :D x

What is it that you're fishing for at the moment mate?

Carp...bigger carp.

I'm targeting waters that are known to have bigger fish in. I'm pretty good at reading the water etc.

Due to the hot weather, I've been experimenting with zig rigs during the day. Sometimes surface fishing, although that's something I'm z bit mors familiar with. Zigs are new, and with a recent addition of a marker rod, I've been tying up zigs of various depth. Tried with an adjustable, but always tangling up.

Only caught one small carp on one so far...but it did give me a bit of faith.

Builder I work for just bought a lake in Thailand and filled it with predator fish! Looks cool. He has strict rules for the well being if his fish. I’ll have to get out there and see what’s what. I have no fishing knowledge. Only fished once off shore for mackerel, they were yum

There's an easy way to avoid tangles with zigs but I'm off to bed now.
It's my birthday today and guess what I'll be doing?

Fly fishing is a skill my old man was a master at it used to tie his own flies and everything, I remember when I was a kid he came home pissed waving some split cane super dooper rod he paid£700 quid for about 25 years ago! Mother was happy she often said you think about fishing more than me you b*****d, I don't think he disagreed:reloco:
