Hi there,

Spent the last week removing wallpaper and backing paper from a two up two down end terrace in Brinscall, Chorley.

Want someone to give me a quote on making walls & artex ceilings good for paint.
Got the below to do:
- Living room 4m x 4.5m
- Dining room 3.5m x 4m
- Bedroom 4m x 4.5m
- Bathroom 2.5m x 2.9m
- Hallway/Landing

Some plaster has blown whilst other looks good, fireplaces are being removed & some new sockets chased in, so if anyone could come take a look and give me a quote that would be great. Could do it in stages as first time buyers so money is tight!

Nothing is in the house, plastic already on the floor and I'll do as much prep as possible (wash walls etc). Ideally looking for mid/late July.

Give me a shout,
Cheers.
Jonny.

Well done for posting this Jonny, I’m afraid it’s way to far for me (4hrs) to get involved. Hopefully only well known members of this forum will get in touch! Good luck mate!

admitting that money is tight doesn't quite install a great deal of confidence in a tradesperson to take your project on pal...........so it's a no from me but good luck with it.

Tb I think your 'll out of order...

Next sensible introduction, opportunity to give prices per room customer can pick them off at there leisure as money comes in.

If I was in the area id of been happy to Price don't see the need for silly replies on this one!
f**k sake it emotional zombie week again .
If was local be worth a look but saying bits are loose is impossible to price over a forum............@gps might be able to though lol

Eight years!! Do they send you Xmas cards now? I was two years or so at the old Masonic hall in northwich coming and going.

It’s f**k**g funny to see all the newbie voultures diving all over this job, like when the free buffet opens at a funeral Ffs! @jonnym92 what ever you do mate if your going to go with someone on here then go with a long term member not a desperate voulture that cant even spell let alone plaster! (y)

The job is down the road from me. You need money to live in Brinscall mate trust me. I hate the need to scrimp and save bullshit they shouldn't have bought the place if they can't afford the work needed

Cheers for replies, good & bad. An interesting welcome.

Not asking for prices over the web, far too many variables.
Yeah there are some very pricey houses in Brinscall I agree, but this is a 2 bed terrace in need of work, not a palace at all.

If there is anyone genuine who does quality work that will last, I'd be happy for you to come over and give me a quote.

Your a f**k**g crank arnt you. You need a good slap. Someone comes on here looking for plasterers, and surprise surprise people show an interest.
I don't need the work FYI, I have about two years worth booked in and contracts are still coming through the door but I offered to give a price as a favour more than anything.
Oh and I have been a member 3 years longer than you.

Cheers, yeah I can see how that would come across, but was mainly referring to if it was easier (for whoever is going to take the job on) as there is plenty more to get on with in the house (heating, bathroom, floors etc) so perhaps stages could work.

Got a few people I have been recommended coming to quote at the end of the week so hopefully be in a good position to get something booked in soon. Fingers crossed it doesn't take 8 years to complete!

@Cockney1 is a good egg. He contributes often to help others plus joins in the banter and very popular bloke. If your booked up for 2 years?? Let some other member take it on? I've never known any plasterer be booked up for 2 years? Unless your math is f**k**g s**t?

In all fairness marshy, nice to know your keeping well btw, the guy said as money is tight it could be done in stages , I didn’t get the impression he was after a cheapie ( tho he probably is :D

Just winds me up. Be like someone living in Chelsea saying they are skint

To be fair to the guy ive worked for quite a few money makers who live beyond there means more money more possesions so there moneys tied up to the maximum leaving them living like an average family if you no what im saying.
Although i agree with you on people who scrimp does my nut in be patient and save.

I offered to give a price as im not far away. Never said anything about taking it on. It would have to be done over weekends if that was the case but it seems the job is being done in stages anyway so that wouldnt matter.
Some customers have been waiting longer than 2 years for us to start work, but these are long standing customers we have done work for in the past so are happy to wait. With work coming in all the time as well that is how i estimate i have 2 years worth of work ahead guaranteed. Houses are flying up everywhere at the moment its not a bad time to be in the trade. Or i could be bullshitting as this is the internet and most people on it are full of s**t.
And yeah my math is s**t thats why im spreading muck on a wall.
