Misting issue

Ok so the first mist coat I did on newly plastered but dry ceilingI got the ratio the wrong way round (yes it was messy!). Used the remaining original mist to water down rest of paint. I think if I'm lucky the 2nd mist coat was 70 paint to 30 water. Is there a way to check if this will start to peel? Is there anything I can do to ensure it won't peel/crack with topcoats? Sickened off with myself as I have done plenty of painting so should not make a rookie error!

I just put neat emulsion on have done a few times and never had a prob beside dogs jumping up at window and scratching f**k out of it

Just sand it down and do it again worst case? Be sure to drink plenty of beer too as sanding down a dusty business lol

I think that will be fine mate don't worry so 'long as 1st coat has had some water added which it has each paint varies in its own water content anyway!

Use acrylic undecoat next time as cheap and easy to get hold of. No thinning. Spec says to prime plaster. It's the correct product to use.

Had a ceiling shell off this week. Same one that I was doing when I got plaster in my eye. Couple of wrinkly bits, ended IP scraping off whole ceiling, well pissed off!

How’s that happen
Good question mate!

Only usually occasionally get if when painting an older ceiling. Never had it before on one of my ceilings.
Only thing I can think of, is that I over troweled it when I was in pain with my eye, and as I could not see properly, kept flattening to make sure it was flat. Polished the f**k*r without realising! :D
