Advice/ first time using Renderboards.

Members online

Hello.
Thanks for having me.
First time posting on here... iv done a few small monocouche jobs using weberpralM the last couple of years and all seemed to go well enough . Agreed to do hack off and re-render a small bay window area for a customer only to discover it was hollow (straight onto mesh and timber battons)
I wouldn’t even know where to start on what system to use to render it properly to be honest.

Called weber technical, they’ve sent me over an email recommending and detailing the ‘MT118P’ system.
All seemed a bit confusing...

Can anybody talk me through some experiences of what is the most simple/effective and ideally cost effective system to use? If I have to go ahead and order all the gear in for what weber are suggesting then fair enough... just had zero experience in doing one before that’s all so any advice be much appreciated .

Thank in advance

Jb

Hi John

As Dan said... they look like PermaBase boards - from Cembrit in the UK (or a similar variant...)

You need to have vertical batten / stud centres at 400mm for them - very flexible boards

What ya doing?

Hello mate

The Weber MT System is their boarded render System - Knauf Aquapanel Exterior is BBA Certified with Weber

You will find the Knauf Aquapanel Exterior brochure in my signature, and through the sponsor links that periodically show in the threads

Knauf Aquapanel is also approved and certified with various other render system suppliers (including K Rend as per Dans post above)

Let me know if you need any help or assistance

Cheers for the responses folks. Life savers. Wickes seem to have plenty of knauff aqua board in stock so will give it a try!

Hi Jack

The Aquapanel in Wickes is Internal only....

Contact Knauf on 01795424499, ask for customer services and find a local Exterior stockist

Cheers

Richard

if your after an off shelf solution i would get a 12mm aquapanel exterior. krend hp14 i think it is troweled on with fibreglass mesh embedded.
trowel flat.
and finish with a 1.5mm silicone topcoat... tc15..
Hi how long do you guys leave the backing coat to cure? Seen something on KRend website about 14 days!?

And can I use a cheaper off the shelf mesh? Seen Selco do some reasonably cheap.

Thanks in advance
