Hi,

I’m doing some 3 coat lime work. Should I leave the first coat to dry completely to advoid cracks on other coats, then just wet down before putting mid coat on ? Or put mid coat whilst first coat still has some moisture in, it so when?

Thanks in advance

If you are using lime putty you need to let each coat go off, lime needs carbon dioxide to go off we were taught at college many years ago to leave it for nine days and damp down for the next coat, also to put some lime putty in our brush water so we didn’t take the lime out on the finish coat
