Can I f**k!! Feel like I'm becoming insomniac go to bed at a decent hour and just lay there trying to sleep n nothing so come back downstairs IL be up till 1 and when I do sleep I always wake well b4 my alarm! Grrrrrrrr does my head in only started in my 40s n getting worse, anyone else have troubles sleeping?

Nope but I think nearly everything comes down to diet and exercise. For example I've always eaten healthy food but still had to cut stuff out like olive oil and butter and felt loads better.

Is is making you tired during the day?

No

Nope! That's worst thing I just feel fine and never tired really maybe need to work harder ha! I am slowly getting back into the gym so maybe give it a couple of weeks n see were I am otherwise get a night job lol.

I dont sleep really either.. My usual awake hours are 0930 til 0230/0330 but recently I have been getting up at 0700 and going to bed at 0400 and not really sleeping...

I dont waste it watching shite on tv I am busy working away :D

If you're not tired then why worry? Some people don't need as much sleep and I think people need less or more sleep at certain ages ..... so enjoy! In a few more years you'll do nothing but nap and dribble! (y)

In my 30s and sleeps got terrible. Woke at one last night and couldn't get back to sleep until Id say was about 3 and woke up a couple times after that too thankfully not for long. Hopefully just because had been sitting up watching s**t to 3 most nights there over hols so a day or 2 get back into swing of things

I'm very similar.
My wife used to say that I was asleep before my head hit the pillow, not now. Probably started in my mid/late forties.
Difference for me is that when it's time to get up I could sleep for England.

If you go to bed with something on your mind or lay there pondering, you won’t sleep. You have to switch your mind off.

Hey @JessThePlasterer eating healthy has done nothing for that rear end has it ? So says @Danny. I wouldn’t be so rude

my son who is 45 has sleep problems. the doc put him on 2 weeks with a sleeping tablet then 2 weeks with no tablets.

Avoid any blue screen activity at least half hour before going to bed(no porn jokes please) and try a cup of warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg.

Reading is very good just before bed, unless it’s a page turner and you can’t put it down.
I very rarely read end up speed reading, find it hard to take in what I read, timez I would have read half a chapter over again before realising I'd already read it. (I didn't use bookmarks tried to remember where I'd read to. :rayos:)
Keep meaning to try the Lord of the rings books, apparently they are better than the films, and I really like the films

They are brilliant! I tried to read the history of middle earth at the back of the last one but it out geeked me.... now that would send anyone to sleep!

They're a foot thick and heavy going, you know. Based on what you just said, you might find them hard work.

'When the lion feeds" by Wilbur Smith and the whole Courtney series is a great read too if you like fiction mashed with chronological historical events of South Africa.... o_O .... but genuinely great!

To be honest mate, that's what put me off before. There is a brave bit of reading in it Nd I know I'd struggle to take it in properly the speed I'd normally read it at, although if it's well enough written it would suck me into it I think.

Give it a go, readings like crack, sucks you into a world away from reality and more-ish

Read dark destroyer by Nigel benn recently, quite an easy to read autobiography. He had quite a colourful life. And another book “the power of one” can’t remember the author. Need another decent book for these cold dark nights actually.
