plasterer required this week or next - the sooner the better

I will organise accommodation and ferries,
you need to drive to Morzine with all equipment and supplies.
(About 11 hours from Dover including ferry)

Get in touch - this is holding up a build and it's easier to speak to a decent British plasterer than a French one right now...

I've been offered local stuff till Christmas so I'm out plus I don't like the cut of his jib? You lads give it a go but I go with my gut and it sounds wrong to me

My mum and her siblings bought a barn house in Brittany in 1990 when they were pissed. It's not been touched apart from the roof. I'm itching to get over there when they sort inheritance stuff out between themselves. That would be an awesome TPF road trip. Accommodation would be a caravan but there's a few here would be home from home!

Evening, not quite sure what you're expecting from me! by not liking the cut of my jib ;)

I got half an apartment done, but the plasterer who had signed up for the work stopped halfway and wanted to double the original quote, I told him to get stuffed. I won't stand for someone undercutting the competition then charging more than everyone to finish the job - downright dishonest in my opinion. That part of France it's difficult to get trades at this time of year because everyone wants their places done for Christmas. I am looking locally, but haven't been able to sort anything in the last week.

The reason you need to take your own materials is that the French use different plaster. It dries faster and it's completely different to work with, therefore if you use supplies out there you'll make a pigs ear of it. Hence, take your own supplies. I have a handful of equipment out there, but you're going to need to drive your plaster out, so might as well take your own tools and then you're completely self contained and responsible for delivery.

Accommodation I can do, ferries I can do. I'll give you a lump sum and you can decide if you drink a gallon of wine or eat steak and have a few beers. Factor that into your numbers.

Your gonna need to pay upfront for materials and go over a bit, also beads and So on. Is it back to brick or reskim? You looking for day rate or price? Surely it's gonna cost more to pay someone to travel over than pay the first bloke?

not sure how this makes any financial sense, unless money isn't an issue.

I would want two days money just for travelling

Plaster is plaster no matter where it’s from most can get a finish with it, I’d prefer the French stuff instead of multi tbh , he should supply it to be fair
