Hi guys.

So I'm wondering what is your top trowels. I've only ever used MTs or tyzack trowels and I haven't changed them for years. Now I'm in the market for a new trowel and completely lost. I know trowels like the nela felx is mainly for the last few rubs. But what about coating?

Good luck keeping hold of your money, trying all these different trowels is addictive.

Best all round is my MT xtralite (carbon) 14x4 3/4
Love the Mediflex when chasing skim. Love the nelaflex 2 for final trowel on skim.
Speedskim to flatten.

Any sand and cement work is still wearing in the MT atm

Buy them all.. sell the ones you dont use...

I have been using an 11inch ox the last few days :D Quite like it :D

When you have a nice trowel for coating it's time to be thinking ahead and getting another one ready.

got a new nelaflex 2 and ordered a nela premium excited to get them broken in. Ended up getting a new pipe trowel, margin trowels, new busks, joint roles and angle trowel ( even though I already have a old tyzack twitcher and a MT 65ssd) I bought snips as well probably never use them as I prefer my jewellers snips. it's been a while since I've had to buy anything forgot how easy it is to get carried away haha

I was looking at the speedskim and the refina plaziflex spat didn't know what one was better though. It's all new to me haha the guys I used to work with where stuck in there old ways used to call me a B&Q plasterer cause I had a 14" and 16" trowel
11" was all they would use lol

I got an old school tyzack off eBay earlier this year, lovely trowel flat as the day it was made , anyways I had it in my tool bag on job this week never used it for dabbing before and tried it, oh my gosh it was wicked normally I hate plasterboarding but it actually made me enjoy the day

I'm in process of trying to break in a premium at the minute. Started it last week. f**k I think it will take a brave lot of sand cement work to break It in lol. Looks to be a hard, hard wearing trowel

What's your everyday use trowel of choice. One you use most?

I was hoping that the premium won't talk long mines will be coming soon.

My favorite one maybe nostalgia but it's my MT carbon 13" had it for 11 year haha was the first one I ever bought

I'd say it will take a couple months of floating. It's a hard trowel. It's shaped nicely though. I won't be skimming with it for a while yet anyways, lol

Is it an xtralite carbon? Do carbons keep there shape as well as a stainless steel. With them being softer they don't seem to last as long? What size trowel do you usually use. I usually use 13x5, though now and again use 14x4 3/4. Medi is a 14 too.

Had it about a year 13x5 better than stainless steel imo , it's xtralite , i don't use any flex trowels anymore except speedy metal or plastic finishing blades

It's probably lost a half inch all round haha
I mainly use my MT 14" stainless and then MT 16" and an 11" for the final but my old one still gets a wee rub in now and again haha
